“Shak, our advisor, was truly brilliant. This was less than straightforward, as we had an EWS1 challenge (Google it...), and problems with solicitors merging practices and losing information, and a good few other minor things that cropped up. Shak was the steadying hand throughout, stepping in wherever she was needed, and took control of whatever situation came up. I have already passed her details to my friends and family.”

As first-time buyers with a few unusual circumstances, we had plenty of questions (and quite a few changes along the way!), but Shak handled everything with the patience of a saint. “Just had a wonderful experience with Holly Grant - a true professional! Nothing was ever too much trouble. Always available at the end of the phone or an email and spent a great deal of time explaining all of our options to us really clearly. “I wouldn't recommend... I spoke to them as I had been approved for a 90% LTV mortgage but it was a very high rate due to some adverse credit and a commercial property next to the purchase. John Charcol were supposed to be experts in this type of mortgage so tried them. Firstly their fees were way higher than quoted elsewhere I spoke with a Ryan and he took all my details. He came back to tell me the best he could achieve is a 75% LTV which I know is wrong as I have been accepted for 90% elsewhere and 85% with a high street bank. So in short I don't rate his expertise highly especially given the high price point. Avoid!”

“I recently purchased a house with the help of a mortgage advisor from John Charcol and I then wanted to have life insurance set up. Thomas from John Charcol was absolutely amazing. He was super friendly and made the whole process so easy. He was very clear and explained everything and was always there to make the proceed easy and answer any questions I had. “The service received was very professional but personal and I felt that Steve explored all possible options for me to remortgage/buy my house. Processes and options were explained in detail, and we explored multiple outcomes together. He guided me througout the process of remortgaging professionally but with a drive to really help me achieve my goal. With Steve I always had a person that I could call up for any queries, and his efforts were always above and beyond what I've expected. Thank you so much.”

“I would highly recommend John Charcol and Jenna who helped me with my mortgage. She has assisted me twice in obtaining a mortgage, and both times she quickly found a suitable provider with a very favourable and easy-to-understand mortgage offer. My circumstances are specific, requiring a particular type of mortgage, and Jenna made the entire process effortless, from initial paperwork to completion. Both mortgages, two years ago and today, were seamless and well worth the nominal fee to avoid the stress of searching the market myself. I highly recommend John Charcol and Jenna, who was a pleasure to work with.”

“Used John Charcol for both our mortgage and life cover. Both were very easy and the advisors are very knowledgable and personable. David Rounsfell has been great at sourcing good mortgage options for us and advising us as to the best route for us into an unknown area as we were first time buyers. He made us feel at ease in a stressful time of buying a property for the first time. Holly Grant dealt with our life policies and her approach and knowledge of the area was exceptional. We had long calls with holly in evenings to work our our schedule and we never felt rushed, holly made us feel totally relaxed and allowed us to make an informed and confident decision. We would recommend John Charcol and specifically David & Holly to anybody looking for mortgage or life policy advice.”
