Quality of goods is very good The only issue is the different rates of postage , we ordered a few items and the postage charged was not a true reflection of the delivery time or item ordered .

Deliver on agreed date, I confess I have not opened the product as I am waiting for a family member to install it.

Good service, helpful advice when I contacted the company on the phone. I had ordered one part incorrectly and they were happy to let me return it and advised me on the part that I needed.

No problems at all with the purchase delivery and fitting of the spindles which I purchased. The only comment I would make is that the priming coat was oil-based and, not being aware of this, there was obviously a problem when a spirit-based paint was applied. Once I had established this after I had applied the spirit-based paint to a number of spindles, then the use of a water-based paint got around this problem (it would seem that oil-based is not necessarily easily come by). I may well have missed the information on the web-site as to the nature of the primer, but perhaps it could be made more prominent or a water-based primer used? But, to reiterate, a good quality product.

The cast iron spindles I bought arrived very promptly and look great. very reasonably priced. I was a little disappointed that they couldn't be cut to my required length

I WAS GENERALLY PLEASED WITH MY PURCHASE AND THE PROMPT DELIVERY. I DID HOWEVER HAVE A SPECIFIC COMPLAINT THAT I WROTE TO JW ABOUT, BY EMAIL ON 28 SEPTEMBER. AMAZINGLY, TWO WEEKS LATER, I HAVE STILL NOT RECEIVED THE COURTESY OF A REPLY. VERY DISAPPOINTING. THE EMAIL IS REPRODUCED BELOW: Hello, My delivery arrived today, Monday, which was very prompt and the goods were well packed. The handrail and brackets are just fine but the end caps are unsatisfactory. One pack was obviously odd stock, the packaging was damaged and the fittings a little scratched. More importantly, all three sets of caps are completely different shades/hues. I tried to capture this on the attached photo but it hasn't really come out. The different colouration of the old stock ones is not altogether surprising as the broken packaging would have allowed air in. However the different colour between the other two is marked and I am surprised it has passed the attention of your QA people. I simply can't be bothered going through the palaver of returning them. I am installing three separate short lengths of handrail, a little away from one another, so I'm hoping that when erected, the difference will not be too apparent. Also when exposed to air they might change a little. I just wanted to record my displeasure. Regards, Colin Harman

Order process went smoothly and parts were delivered extremely promptly. Although you get a tracking reference number, Tuffnells appear to have no online tracking facility. Ringing Tuffnells with the number easily produced an accurate delivery update. It would be useful to know upfront that you cannot track online as it would have saved a lot of time searching for the unavailable facility.

Very nice quality stair rail. Looks good as well. However it is advertised at being 3.6 metre and it is four x 1 metre posts plus the pieces where they meet so I had to cut the last one in half!! There is also no pre drilled holes or even markers to tell you where the holes should be to fix the brackets on to the wooden plinths that go on to the wall. But overall having said that we are very pleased with the end result.
