“My overall review of the KRK VTX 4 speaker and of Inta-Audio. I purchased a single, KRK VTX4 speaker as a supplementary mono monitor (to my main Yamaha HS8 stereo monitors located in relatively open space in my bedroom studio) to use as a convenient and 'initial, smaller scale' mixing set-up (which also 'doesn't generally wake the neighbours') - I tend to do a lot of initial mixing at low to medium volume especially on the KRK (and headphones) often till late at night. Yes, I know, it's perhaps not what 'the experts' would recommend - ie since it's a ported, two way speaker (and not an Auratone or Avantone, say) then it's not an Auratone mono speaker substitute - I know!, but frankly I don't think that's really the point. Here's my view. Whilst I'm not remotely an expert mixer, I've been mixing (and producing good results) for long enough to know that even if I had an Auratone equivalent any problem I may have with my mixing is largely due to my lack of knowledge and skill (and/or my mixing room) - not the lack of an Auratone substitute. Also note, that I effectively have 5 different 'comparison' playback / monitoring systems (plus headphones) around the house to check my mixes on! So I can compensate overall. But the VTX4 gives me so much more than just headphones for developing and checking a mix, even in mono and at lowish level - hence I use both VTX4 and headphones, from which I can progress a mix to semi-final standard, even without using my main monitors. Moreover, I personally believe that any reasonable quality mono monitor, especially when used with a 'heavily mid-range focused eq setting' (set up temporarily on your master bus, to mimic the Auratone frequency response say, or even instead use Waves H-EQ plug-in with the 'Mud-Out Galore' preset,) will provide you with a great insight into the mid-range detail and focus of your mix - and hence serves as a great check on mid-range presentation and balance. It also serves as a great 'mini' speaker too, even to listen (in mono) to standard cd's or youtube. Now onto the KRK VTX 4 I just love this 4" speaker - it's quite heavy yet compact and more than loud enough for nearfield use (with 30W woofer, 15W tweeter for all round work). It's very smooth, yet detailed and it seems beautifully balanced across the frequency spectrum (with no hyped 'boom or bloom', or obvious 'mud' or 'harshness'). And it sits nicely dead centre, about 18" in front of me, on Auralex speaker pads on my studio desk. I hadn't previously realised it, but it seems a pair of KRK VTX 4's have quite often found their way into a few mastering houses (seemingly as a smaller scale, very nearfield comparison monitoring system!) - not a surprise to me at all! You may also observe that in terms of quality and size, you probably get the equivalent of (and with 'better taste') a Genelec 8020 for less than 2/3 of the price! In time, I will buy a second VTX 4, to make up a pair for high quality portable monitoring. And as for Inta-Audio, these guys are great, very good company and service. I bought my custom built, 8-core Intel i7 Music PC from them 2 years ago, no issues, very reliable and still going strong - which along with my TC Electronic Impact Twin firewire interface mixes a 30+ track pop/rock song with lots of Aux and Busses and 'zillions of Waves plug-ins', all at 128ms latency (though I mostly use 256ms latency as I rarely record)! Speaker ordered (cheaper than anywhere else), arrived next day, brand new and in perfect condition! Will definitely buy again from Inta, I have also chatted to them regarding upgrading my PC (to SSD memory etc) - they were very helpful, knowledgeable and informative. If you are serious about your music and gear, and especially prefer a dedicated music PC, look nowhere else than Inta Audio!”

“I first messed up my address originally, well I still think it was Paypal`s doing, and the item got auto-returned but Inta-Audio processed a refund quickly with no hassle, which was great. “Ordered Thursday lunchtime, with me by 10.30 am the following day! More surprising as I'm on the Isle of Man, which usually means extra delivery time. Packaged well in a waterproof postal bag too. The product is excellent, and comms were top notch too, updating me in the short time I had to wait to receive the item. 5 stars from me - I'll defo use Inta Audio again!”
