“I've learnt a lot from doing this course and now feel much more equipped to go into the classroom and start teaching. There is a lot to take in and it can feel a bit dull going through it all but the content of the course is all relevant and useful. I will certainly be looking back at my notes a lot for guidance and reminders when I start teaching.”

“The only real problem I had was at the end with the Essay and the materials. I agree that they are important but a more detailed description of what is required would be very helpful.”

“The staff were very friendly and helpful, from the online helpline staff, to client services staff in the UK as well as in Cape Town, and the Academic Head who emailed immediately in response to a query I had. The course content was comprehensive and thorough, with plenty of opportunities to test once knowledge acquired. Thank you!”

“This an awesome program. I gave 4 stars because I needed to read less, watch more videos and to conclude as fast as possible. There are a lot of quizzes too. I don't know whether to hate that or not but in general, the course is very informative. It gives one of the best training but you need a lot of discipline and readiness for much reading.”

“This course relies heavily on text-based learning. This is my only major criticism, other than the lack of a search function to find specific information in past modules. I would suggest that the course could benefit from being more interactive and less text-intensive. Having said that, the course is very detailed, and I understand the necessity of that. The attention to detail is astonishing, and overall the course is very well structured. I did not once have to contact a tutor throughout, which is a testament to how well presented the information is. The course has periodic tests/quizzes which are designed to test subject knowledge at the end of modules, which is a great way to refresh material as some of the modules can be rather long. Personally I think the course leans towards teaching children as a primary focus, but there is still plenty of information on how to teach older groups as well as students from various professions. For anyone who has the time and patience, I would certainly recommend this course. If you can handle sitting behind a screen for many hours (albeit at your leisure over a ten week period in my case), this is the course for you. If you don't like text-based learning, I would recommend learning in a classroom. I would also recommend printing off the course before your time limit expires as it is a useful tome of knowledge to have at hand to refer to! Thanks i-to-i, I am excited to see what the future brings!”

“The pace is useful for someone working full time. As the course is online one can dip in and out as work commitments allow. The course was set out in bite size chunks with self testing to check learning. The ability to go back and review after several days ' absence was useful. The self testing kept me motivated. The links to articles and resources were useful. I think the course needs supplementing by a practical course unless one has other training qualifications. The speed of marking was impressive even without fast marking. The feedback on submitted materials was constructive. I enjoyed learning at my own pace and at my own direction.”

“I did 3 TEFL courses. The first 2 were enjoyable, very informative, and I felt very confident about the end assessment. The last course (advanced grammar) was the one that let me down. The layout did not work and the course was pretty empty on laying out HOW to teach grammar rules (which is the whole point!). But overall, I did enjoy most of the learning experience.”

“Great resources, huge amount of stuff to get through, 85% of it is very very useful. Lots of tips and examples throughout the course. Made me look forward to teaching. Only real complaints is some of the multiple choice tests were either stupidly easy, or purposefully vague and hard to answer just one way. Also at least twice there were tests on things not covered within the course. But, it's great that you can resit them whenever you need to.”
