My son loves going to Gymboree!!! All the teachers at Islington are great. They really take the time to make sure every child is involved and are always there to give helpful pointers. I have knocked a star off my rating for the venue: 1) there is a lot of dirt in-between the mats and my son keeps either putting his hands down the crack of the mats or his mouth. 2) the venue is too far for quite a number of mums that live in south Islington. The trip takes about an hour. Please open another branch closer to Angel. :-)

Overall, good, although I don’t think it’s particularly good value in terms of cost. The staff at Islington are lovely (I don’t know all of them but Jenny and Amy are particularly great). The facilities are good too and my baby really enjoys the classes. I prefer the structured sections - songs etc - to the going off and trying stuff bits (sorry - not sure how to define this part of the class!), because sometimes there isn’t enough room for the babies to get on slides or climb into things etc and I end up just standing around.

We had a wonderful experience with owner and manager Nicole. Not only does she have an angelica l voice, her baby classes also hit the right balance between guided play and baby led exploration. She also took genuine interest in what was going on with babies at any given point and made great suggestions without imposing opinion. Four stars instead of five because our experience wasn't as good with other group leaders. Singing voice not as good, interaction with babies was too loud and hectic and overall atmosphere just not as good. The location as such is really nice - we might return when our wee one is a bit older.

It is good for child development. We are pleased with the different themes too.

Well run friendly clean environment. Some of the class leaders are more enthusiastic than others but that’s not affected our toddlers enjoyment .

Great place, wonderful engaging staff. Would love there to be more open plays, at least one per day, including weekends!

Very nice playspace for young kids. We have known the gymboree classes from the USA since our daughter was born and were happy to find one close to our new place in London. The facilities are somewhat old and sometimes colder than I'd like, but the staff is great (especially James from Saturday place classes, great with kids!). Classes are always fun, there's a good diversity of class types too and schedule is convenient. Recommended for parents trying to keep their little ones busy!

I feel there needs to be more morning times for the younger groups. As they are more likely to come in the morning than the afternoon because of older siblings at school.

Team are engaging and fun. The Puntney branch is too hot to enjoy in the summer months even with a fan. Air con is desperately needed.

I can see my daughter develop and grow after each lesson. It's wonderful and the teachers are very encouraging :)

We celebrated my daughter turning 2 years old at Gymboree St Albans. My daughter had lots of fun and all her friends loved it. As they did everything for us, from playing, singing, activities to setting up the food and cutting the cake, my husband and I could enjoy the party too and be part of our daughter’s special day.

Gymboree in terms of the classes is really great. It’s just when you miss a class and try to do make ups that can be hard. I have lost out on a lot of classes because I haven’t been able to make them up...this has turned out to be an expensive activity. Perhaps have no time limit on when you have to do a make up and allow say up to 3 months after the end of an active membership to do any outstanding make ups.

The classes and space itself are great. The only downside is the admin is very bureaucratic and so many rules! They could do with being more flexible and parent/child-friendly.

It is a happy place and my son loves it. He has gone up to level 5 which I think he perhaps should have done a while ago. I would have liked some guidance in this as I have had before. I do worry about the hard wooden parts of the equipment and would love to see some efforts made into trying to soften the hard corners that can (and occasionally) cause some really unpleasant bumps. The new staff seem to have settled in well and I'm so pleased.
