STAY AWAY FROM GO ASSIST ! Absolutely rubbish service, just a bunch of crooks. I booked a one off service repair for my fridge. I was told that I needed to pay £140 upfront to cover the call-out charge, labour and 90 days warranty for the work done. Cost of parts was extra, depending on the part. The technician came took a picture of the faulty part and left. Few minutes later I received a quote for the new part almost £400. For this price I could buy a new fridge, so I called them to cancel. They said that they can cancel it but there is no refund. According to them £140 is for the call-out charge, even though in our previous phone call thay said that the labour and the warranty was included aswell. I asked to speak to someone in charge but was told that no one was available and that even if someone was available the answer would be the same. Thieving Bastards. I just hope carma will give them what they deserve.

Go -Assist is proof positive that a zero star rating should be a standard option on all review sites in order to highlight companies that are the absolute pits. Go -Assist would be in pole position. I called them about my malfunctioning tumble drier early August. I was subject to some 20 mins hard pressure selling for things I didn’t want or need before I could get to the point and book a visit after paying £129. Almost immediately after the call, I got a text from the man I spoke to, giving his forename and requesting a review for Trustpilot of his performance! Obviously they are told to do this after the initial contact in order to inflate the company’s positive positive ratings to judge by the number of such reviews that begin with an appreciation of their staff. A man from Hotpoint then texted me with an appointment date the next week. Two days later the drier packed in for good so I called to cancel the appointment but the office had just closed for the weekend. I managed to successfully cancel the appointment via the Hotpoint website and on the Monday called customer services advising them of the cancellation and requesting a refund. The man I spoke to said that he would check details and call back. I am still waiting for him to do so. I then contacted customer services via e-mail and over a period of days and 5 e-mail messages sent to them, all I got each time was a thank you and an undertaking to call me back. Guess what? I am still waiting for them to do so. I then wrote to the head man at Go-Assist informing him of customer services inaction and requesting his help in the matter. Receipt of my letter was signed for the next day after posting. Two weeks later, the letter was returned, unopened and with no reason stated for its return. This saga has now been running for 68 days. For the moment my money remains in the hands of these predators. I tell my family, friends, neighbours, acquaintances and others to have nothing to do with Go-Assist and its Get Customers to EffOff services and advise readers here to avoid these shysters like the plague.

I have paid GBP 139 for an engineer to come and have a look at our oven. We had a problem with the ignition, which wouldn't stop and keep going while the oven was working. It took a few day for the engineer to come. Took him about 10 min to figure out that we need a new ignition in the oven. He said we will be contacted by their team. We were quoted GBP 121 for the parts, which we paid straight away. They said the parts will be delivered within 10 days. I was tracking this. Than it got delayed for another week, than for another 2 weeks. The first contact was made on the 04th Sep. On the 07th Oct we got a message saying the appliance is "beyond economical repair" and they offer us some GBP 40 voucher... which was a total joke. I contacted their support via chat and managed to get GBP 121 for the parts back, but they wouldn't refund GBP 139 for the engineer. Totally unacceptable service - the job is not done and money and time are completely wasted.

Paid upfront for a service contract and paid for a freezer repair, engineer arrived and was here 2 minutes after saying he couldn't do anything as the freezer wasn't turned on. He was rude and unhelpful. We had not been told it had to be on and as the alarm was going all the time had obviously turned it off. My wife tried to cancel the contract only to be told it was ok and an engineer would be back to sort it out and she couldn't cancel as an engineer had been out. Another appointment was arranged for over a week later, My wife waited in all day only o be told at 4.30 that the engineer would not be coming and would come the next day between 8 and 1pm. He arrived at 1.00pm, My wide offered him a drink only to be asked for a can or bottle, He looked at the freezer which had been turned on well in advance, opening the door and putting his had on the compressor saying it felt too warm. He left saying the office would be in contact regarding parts and cost. It was clear he didn't really want to look any further. We then got an email saying that the engineer has declared it beyond economical repair. We called them up and they agreed to refund the repair costs as they wouldn't repair. I tried to cancel the ongoing repair contract, only to be told it would be £50 cancellation as we were now outside the 14 day cancellation period. "My hands are tied and you have got a cheaper repair as you were on contract" I argued that they hadn't repaired it so that was academic, but they still charged me £50 for absolutely nothing .

The company is a scammer, not sure how they got my account details, they attempted to remove £70 from my account and my bank blocked them. I sent a message to them how they got my details but no response. Rogue company.

Please do not use this company, they take your money when no work is done. It has cost me £547 for a new syphon in my toilet, which costs £16 in B&Q. They are saying they put taps and a shower head in, it’s crazy I still have the same 30 year old taps and no shower head.

Came to fix my dishwasher, paid them £156 for parts sent an engineer who had no idea , started hammering away at the dishwasher treating it like a piece of junk, ending up pushing it back, unfortunately it doesn't fit anymore, with a big gap on one side and way too near the cupboard door on the other side. Obviously he never repaired it, still does not drain water away. Complete waste of money. Keep phoning Customer service to get somebody out, unfortunately they keep saying they are going to ring me back, but I am still waiting. Reading these reviews I know now they are all just money grabbers.

Repair person left saying my washing machine was fine now. It was in fact unrepaired and I was the victim of this company twice - once for paying for a fictional repair and twice because a year later, there’s a charge of £69.99 on my credit card. Initially I didn’t recognise this item and so my card was declared compromised and a new card issued. I hope this means they won’t be able to claim the amount again in a year’s time. I don’t even know what the charge was for - it wasn’t the bill for the non-repair! I have no paperwork authorising them to take the amount.

DO NOT USE, Go Assist and Big Warranties are the same company with the same Company Director, Richard John Waters. Go Assist will try to broker a repair warranty for Big Warranties, THIS WILL NOT COVER THE INTIATIAL FAULT IF IT RETURNS. I had a repair carried out which failed within 2 months, they claim repairs are covered for 3 months. Without sending an engineer they claimed the fridge freezer was beyond repair and refused to fix it. Big Warranties then refused to pay out because the original fault had returned. For context my freezer had stopped cooling, and all the engineer did was re-gas. No leak check, no parts replaced. This is like taking a car to the mechanic with an oil leak and instead of finding the leak the mechanic refills the car with oil and charges for a repair. The result seems to be that your initial repair is not guaranteed under Go Assist, the Big Warranties policy will not pay out
