My electric car broke down on a busy roundabout in Bakewell Derbyshire. GEM arrived within 45 minutes of it being arranged with their call centre, loaded the car onto their vehicle and took myself, my passenger and the car to the Fiat dealership in Derby. Brilliant service. Thank you.

Using the app was very easy, the team were extremely friendly and polite, truck arrived quicker than estimated and all went very smoothly. As I was a lone female this meant a lot to me.

He arrived less than an hour after I had reported my problem. He was friendly and courteous and, using the appropriate tools, fixed the problem and changed the wheel for me.

hi 1st time I have used gem in 6 years. have to say it was very good.my son who was with me done it on his smartphone. no problems the breakdown truck came along on time. and took my car back. regards mr tjsay.

Been members for 2 years. Had to use the service after the car failed to start. Was a bit apprehensive but worries were unfounded. App was easy to use. Response to request was within 2 mins. Kept fully informed of breakdown service which arrived just outside of the quoted hour time. Considering we’re in a rural area we were more than happy with that, after speaking to others who are with the major breakdown companies and have had to wait 4+ hours. Breakdown was fixed by a very friendly, efficient mechanic with 30 mins. Would not hesitate to recommend GEM motoring assist to anyone.

Friendly and efficient response to my telephone call, assistance arranged which arrived within 40 minutes and problem with a nasty puncture sorted within an hour of the call. Impressed that a 'check text' to check arrival came in so felt well looked after - thank you GEM. Only the third time I've needed them in umpteen years but it just works!

I first took out GEM membership in the early 1980s following a friend's recommendation. I have used it twice, so far as I remember, but have always been reassured to know that it would be available if my car broke down - and as it's growing older this is an increasingly likely event. Most recently, as it happens, I needed GEM when I picked up a nail in a back tyre. I tried to deal with this myself but was defeated by the wheel being corroded onto the hub so I rang GEM. The telephone response was immediate, a mechanic arrived within twenty minutes or so and put on the emergency wheel speedily, and there was subsequently a telephone call from GEM to check that the job had been done to my satisfaction. I sent the invoice to GEM that day (Monday) and was reimbursed on Friday. I was very pleased with the service I received from GEM and recommend it highly.

Easy to arrange assistance through the app and over the telephone. Friendly and efficient service from the call centre. Local recovery firm arrived within 30 minutes. Unable to solve the problem at the roadside but correctly diagnosed a burnt out alternator. Recovered the relatively short distance to home to await repairs. A friendly and efficient service from start to finish.

Relatively low cost compared to other breakdown companies. They don't do roadside repairs and the cheaper subscription requires you to pay and claim back the pickup costs. However, the service is good and the claim is always paid within a week of requesting it.

We would like to remind you that we can attempt roadside repairs, if the vehicle has broken down at the roadside and is at least a quarter of a mile from your home address. If however, in the opinion of the recovery operator, the vehicle cannot be repaired within 60 minutes, then the vehicle, driver and passengers can be recovered to the nearest suitable garage which is able to repair the vehicle the same working day. Had to use recently, call centre was very professional and double -checked all the details - local garage sent someone in less than half an hour and I was back on the road 20 minutes later. Can't fault Gem, and they're so much cheaper than AA and RAC.

Car broke down at home and needed to be transported to the garage. Rang in the evening and requested a flatbed transporter for the following morning. The transporter arrived within the promised two-hour window and took me and the car to the garage.

They quickly answer the phone and the app through CallAssist. The recovery has come within 20 minutes both times with a flatbed to recover the vehicle without any of that "we are sending a van first to count your wheels nonsense." Speedy and reliable.
