“Gogirl.con
What a joke this company is proper con artists cancelled my policy after 1 month with no reason to why charging me £230 for the month 1 3rd of the total price for the year. I will be taking legal advice on this matter they are like vets charge what they like & you don't seem to do anything about it.”
“I brought this insurance because at the time of purchase it was the cheapest i could get, £2100 just being 18 and passed test. I transferred from a student to an engineering apprentice which lead to my premium going up by £980! As i pay by monthly installments and had 9 months left this mean i have to now pay £291 a month, I could not even cancel as it would cost me over £1700. As well as this, every time they make a change to your plan to increase how much you have to pay them, they make you pay a deposit.. for instance when they changed my profession i had to pay a £276 deposit, for them making a change?! They are an ABSOLUTE SCAM and I'd urge no one to ever purchase insurance of this company. I am currently saving up to cancel my insurance, which will now cost me over £2300 to do.”
“Don't go with them they rip you off if you start with being a student then change to apprentice they then charge you £662 to do so. How do they sleep at night oh yes with our money”
“AVOID .. AVOID .. AVOID like the plague.
I would give ZERO STARS if I could.
I cannot stress enough how terrible this company is .. !!
They should be named .. "DICK TURPIN INSURANCE" .. as the way they perform is just Highway Robbery !!
We put our son as a learner driver on a policy with them, which was very reasonable (about an extra £150) .. Our son then passed his test and then did not drive the car whatsoever after he passed as we knew that this was illegal.
When the policy was about 3 weeks from renewal, I contacted them and told them that we wanted him removed from the policy as he had passed his test some time before and they then told me that I would have to pay an additional £600 pounds from when he had passed his test until the renewal date. I refuted this additional payment and was told in no uncertain way that my policy would be cancelled unless payment was made !!
There is another very similar review on here from somebody who was asked to pay an additional £500 for their daughter passing her test 2 months prior to them notifying Gogirl .. !!
Needless to say, I refused the payment, I TOLD THEM in writing to cancel my policy immediately and I am now going with a different company.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE .. AVOID .. THIS COMPANY DRAWS YOU IN WITH A LOW STARTING PRICE AND ONCE YOU ARE WITH THEM, THEY WILL ROB YOU BLIND !!
THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AWFUL .. THEIR TELEPHONE MANNER IS VERY ABRUPT AND RUDE AND THEY REALLY DO NOT CARE WHATSOEVER ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS.”
“I bought a GoGirl policy then just over a month later had to cancel it.
When you cancel an insurance policy, most insurance companies charge you for the days actually used (in my case 10%) plus an admin fee of £25-50. Fair enough. GoGirl rounded the number of months on policy up to 2, and consulted their table (yes, in the terms and conditions I should have read) and came up with a charge of 28%. Net net, I got £150 less back than I would have with a reputable insurer.
READ THE FINE PRINT and decide if you can stomach their cancellation charges. My recommendation: do not use GoGirl.”
“I’ve been insured with Go Girl for a year and no problems so far (Touch wood!) - they’ve always been friendly, and efficient and I’m about to renew with them today.”
“BEWARE Terrible customer service, talk over you, make snide comments and even started to laugh when I got upset because I felt like I was being palmed off.
Wanted to cancel my policy within 20 mins of setting it up as I realised I made a mistake and they disgustingly are charging £45 to cancel as they've "set up the policy". I questioned how long it takes to set up and the team manager informed me seconds. Indeed it was as the email confirmation was sent in seconds.... So just one click of an automated button and I'm having to pay £45 for the privilege. It's a ridiculous cost and I was within minutes of the full 14 day cooling off period even starting, even though my policy doesn't even start for another two weeks!! my money is in a standing account for 7 days which they can just decline payment and the money would go back in. I don't understand the £45 charge????? Fair enough if some actual person had done some work. I'm so unbelievably disappointed. I'm still going to go ahead and cancel as I don't want to give this vile company another penny of my actual hard earned cash that I physically earn for a living.
They were so rude I was taken aback, gained and lost a customer with in two hours.
(Sent an email initially as the number on the split second documents wasn't working and eventually got the right one from the website).
Setting up was easy but I really do dread to think what would happen if you had to make a claim!”
“Very poor customer service. I insured my vehicle with them a couple of weeks before my insurance with another company expired and they happily took my money then told me they couldn't insure me as I was still insured with the other company and confessed they knew this when they took my money. They then refused to change the start date and said I would have to e-mail to cancel my policy and would take £45 anyway! Disgraceful. I will never insure with Go Girl again. They cannot be trusted”
“Absolutely rediculous, the customer service is shocking and they are very unhelpful. This company have said to phone me back almost 5 times now but never do and probably because they know they are mistaken! Just argue and give cheeky comments constantly. They don't deserve customers.”
“Having made a no fault claim I found GoGirl to be very helpful and polite, they also settled the claim on the car relatively quickly the only problems we encountered were with the car hire company ie courtesy car and expenses incurred whilst without a vehicle, but this was put into the hands of an external claims company.”
“Fantastic customer service; very engaging and eager to discern and resolve any/all issues reported. Very flexible around payment dates and all staff are seemingly happy to help.”
“This company is verging on providing fraudulent services - no other company charges £45 to cancel a policy within the cooling off period or £100 per amendment/minimal policy change. When we spoke with them the call centre person kept cutting across me and was incredibly rude. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY to insure anything. There are many great insurance companies out there, offering similar or better services that won't treat you like an idiot. I'd be prepared anytime to pay more rather than give my hard earned cash to this type of charlitan organisation.”
