“I have been wearing Gabor shoes for some years. and have always found them comfortable and they retain their shape and smart appearrance longer than most. Following cardiac surgery my right foot is somewhat puffy and some shoes I can no longer wear. Using a leather half sole insert in my left shoe has solved the fitting problem, thankfully. I can no longer tolerate more than a minimum heel as I also have arthritus in my left knee so my walking is not as smooth and easy as I would like. I like the availability of the same style often in a variety of colours and finishes - black/navy/red/nuetral and often with a mixture of leather/patent/suede. I tend to prefer a ballerina style with a proper heel rather than a one piece sole and heel. I don't like too many add on bits and pieces, tending to rely on the basic design and a couple of different finishes of material of the same colour for impact. A statement bow on a shoe is useful for a more dressed appearrance to go with more 'event' type outfits. The fittings are consistent which is helpful. My only prefrance would be for the shoe to be a little more open around the top of the foot to avoid the 'closed in' look, but on the whole, Gabor is one of my 'Go To' brands. Happy to recommend.”

“I ordered 4 pair of shoes. One pair had been previously worn. Suede on the toes and sides of the shoes was worn. Sides of the shoes were also dirty. I contacted customer service and was asked to provide photos. I provided photos and the response I received from Jack was that the suede was damaged in transit and I should use a suede brush to repair the shoes. I find it outrageous that the Charles Clinkard provides such poor service. I will not order from this company again.”

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear about your recent experience. I have reviewed the conversation you had with customer services I can understand why you're unhappy. My colleague was trying to explain to you that some types of suede can appear faded, particularly if the nap (the tiny fibers on the surface) have been flattened or marked. This can happen sometimes when they've been in the box a little while or in transit. However, brushing suede with a suede brush can restore its appearance by lifting the nap and removing dust or dirt. That said, our warehouse should have inspected the items and brushed them prior to dispatch to prevent you from having to address this yourself. As you’re overseas, we believed offering the option to try resolving this at home might be more convenient than arranging a return. I hope you will accept my apologies for the confusion and inconvenience caused, and that the explanation above provides clarity and encourages you to consider shopping with us again in the future. “Excellent quality, stylish and long lasting. This is the second time that I have bought these boots and I love them. The other pair of 3 years old and I’ve worn them almost every day in the winter months. They are still working/operating! They’ve been revealed and resolved.”

“Charles clinkard provided the Gabor shoes and I can recommend this north east based company. The shoes from Gabor are very comfy and stylish the soles are great quality and they strike a good balance between every day use and smart work clothes. Love that you can get all one colour upper and sole in so many styles rather than the contrasting upper and sole.”

“Sometime since I bought a pair of Gabor shoes and am now kicking myself as to why? How delightful to once again buy shoes that fit (am a U.K. size 9) are beautifully made, elegant to the eye (goodness that is so important with large feet!!) and incredibley comfortable, so much so, I nearly forgot I had them on.”

“I highly recommend these boots. They are extremely comfortable, and surprisingly make my size 8 feet look small. I have looked for some lace up boots for quite some time, but didn't want to look as though I was trying to impersonate a teenager. These boots are a sophisticated take on the heavy lace up boot look which is on trend right now. I bought them to wear with long skirts to make them look less mumsy, but in actual fact they also look great with skinny jeans and a blazer. They are also very smart might I add.”
