I purchased a pair of earrings some months ago and the back clips kept coming off. I stopped wearing the earrings as I was concerned that I would lose them. I returned to the shop to see if there was a problem with them. The assistant was so helpful and explained that the clips at the back could become loose, and that could have been the problem as she could not see anything wrong with the stem of the earrings. She suggested that I purchase locking earring backs (a pack of 4 costs £11.99), which I did. Her manner, attitude and patience is to be commended - excellent customer service. However, I feel that if the backs of stud earrings can become loose over time and cause the earrings to be lost, would it be better to sell the earrings with a lockable back when they are purchased?

Receipt No. 8367 This purchase was an additional gift to my wife to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. Once the item was chosen assistant asked we we would like a presentation bag and thinking this would be free we agreed. At no point was a charge mentioned or indicated. Offered a single payment to repair or replace damaged or unrepairable items as long as returned to this shop, I agreed to subscribe to. I thought that this was an agreement directly with Hinds. Once my personal information was entered into your computer system £150 87 payment was requested. At this time my wife re-entered the shop to find out why the delay. We both queried this sum as not adding up to the amount expected. The cost of the presentation bag was then confirmed. I would now ask for a refund on this item and the now-known insurance policy as this was not fully explained that this was an insurance policy. We frequented your outlet regularly when served by Dawn but on this occasion, the pleasure of this purchase seemed diminished and diluted. Later that afternoon I mentioned that I had been asked if we traveled by bus or car. It felt as if we had been taken for 2nd class customers. I would also ask that my personal information be deleted from your computer system. I look forward to your reply with interest. G.C. Catchpole

The lady who served me was so helpful and lovely. She was new there so she was taking her time understandably, while also being so polite and friendly in the process. Also, the lady who helped with getting the links I needed removing from the watch I purchased. She was also very friendly and helpful. I have nothing bad to say, I will recommend this particular store (Horsham, West Sussex) to my family.
