“Great design, looks good on arrival. Mineral crystal doesn't show as well as sapphire and brass crown is tarnished in the first week of ownership. Concerned about long term quality as a result.”

Hi Ian - thanks for your review. We recently upgraded the Barnato and Carter to have solid bronze crowns, to match the crowns on our Automatic range. This is likely why you think that your crown is tarnished - it is in fact the patination from natural oxidisation. You can easily return the crown to being shiny by polishing with a cloth and a polishing product such as Peek. If you still have issues/questions then please send more detailed photographs to enquiries@farer.com and we will resolve. “My son bought a Farer watch which he loves, so I was pleased to see you have a selection of straps. I bought a black leather one for his birthday. I'm sure he will enjoy having an alternative look for his Farer. I was very pleased with the quality of the leather. The ordering process was straightforward and the delivery was made promptly. “I've been wearing my Lander GMT everyday for about two weeks and it brought a great amount of joy every time I look down on my wrist. I bought a second strap two weeks in and am also very happy with it, as it changes the overall feel of the watch. It makes me realise how much I appreciate a good design and needless to say, GMT is a very practical function. Talking to one of the founders in their London office proves to be very helpful. Their shipping speed is also incredibly fast.”

“I own a Hopewell. I couldn't personally be happier about the design: elegant, simple and gorgeous. The size of the watch fits my wrist perfectly. Also, the customer service at Farer is excellent; the sapphire crystal glass on my watch cracked due to a violent accidental fall and, once I paid for shipping alone, an other free-of-cost sapphire glass was sent to me so I could get it fixed in India (where I currently reside).”

“I have the Oxley. The best thing is, it looks even better in real life. Especially the outer rim of the dial doesn't come out on the pictures but it is stunning! The whole watch is full of contrast and surprises all in a very stylish way!”

“My lander watch looks great. Maybe slightly smaller than I originally envisaged but an eye catching design that'll never be out of fashion. The only things I will say is I was under the impression that it was a 100 number limited run, but I now see that having sold all 100, the run has now increased to 250, that's naughty in my opinion and misleading. If it's 250, 500 or whatever just make that clear from the beginning. Also the company should have a contact phone number on the website. I might be old fashioned, but I like to speak to someone if I have a question or query.”

“I was a little nervous spending this much on a watch but had been left some money by my late father so decided to treat myself and have the watch engraved with his initials and the years he was alive. I didn't just want a 'brand' name - not that I have anything against them and have owned many big brand names over the years. I wanted something British and a little bespoke if possible. Suffice to say I needn't have worried as the moment I opened the box I knew I'd made the right decision. The build quality is second to none and the minute I held the Farer Lander I felt the build quality in my hands. I cannot say how much I love this watch having worn it for a few days now. The attention to detail is amazing and you can tell this has been assembled by true professionals in Switzerland and not mass produced in a factory in China. I love the bronze crown - a subtle but beautiful touch, and the sea green dial which changes with the light. I love the combo of retro touches but packaged together in a modern way - there is nothing on the market that looks like this and it certainly isn't going to be mistaken for anything else. I can't wait to see what Farer do next and I suspect that this won't be my first and last watch from them. I'd better start saving!”

“The process of choosing and ordering my watch was very easy and the website is intuitive. After ordering my watch I decided to change the strap and this was done with out fuss and expedited quickly. All in all an easy and pleasurable experience... and watch is lovely!”

“Really a 3.5 star rating. Pretty watch. Feels well made apart from the very irritating fact that the second hand doesn't align to the minute markers. It is a quartz but I would expect it to for a £400 plus watch. Sub £100 Seikos can so no excuse really.”
