“The policy covers all my needs”

“The strange thing about insurance is that you need to use it to understand if it good or not, and yet having to use it to any degree is normally not what one wants. As yet we have not needed to use The Explorer Travel Insurance - close but not quite worth the hassle we expect. We needed to cut short our recent trip to Madeira, and come home nine days early. We had both become ill with an issue never previously experienced. We were using our Apartment in the Pestana Grand and so were self-sufficient and did not need to come into close contact with anyone else. We booked a return trip with Eazyjet. This cost us just under £200. The unused remaining one week in our Timeshare Type apartment was able to be credited for future use. We have now been home for just 0ne week and have not been well at all. We believe we have both been subject to Covid (something we had avoided previously). This has been a very unpleasant experience, however, one which we have been happier to experience in the comfort and privacy of our own home, rather than in a clinic/hospital In Funchal. Probably a win-win situation all-round for us and for Explorer Travel Insurance. All we need now is a box of chocolates to cheer us up, but we suspect that does not come into the Explorer Travel Terms and Conditions. Hopefully, we shall have many future trips abroad without needing to call upon Explorer Travel Insurance. Alan and Pat Hall”

“Thank you Explorer Insurance for your prompt assistance while I was abroad. Although the level of insurance I purchased did not cover the cost of the medical I required, I was given good, prompt advice of where to go for treatment which was affordable for me.”
