Refused home start support because I carried out minor maintenance before call (topped up coolant). Wanted to charge me £100 for a call-out. It seems like 2gether will find any excuse to save money

left me high and dry. bought a policy. had a tyre blow out on the motorway. got recovered to a service station. the recovery guy was dis interested in getting my spare wheel on and tried to leave me there. 70 Miles from my home and another 100 miles from work . 2 gether said i wasn't covered if the spare wheel was inaccessible and that they had done their job. The story ends by me getting my spare wheel off myself and me getting it pumped up and the recovery guy being forced into putting it on my van. Overall disgusted with the service.

Broke down today and waited three hours on a recovery van,I'm glad I broke down where I did otherwise my granddaughter would have been in the camper with me which would have been even worse but it was bad enough and not acceptable to wait the length of time I did .I just hope I don't need to use your service again as you never know where your going to be ie: in the middle of nowhere ! What I would like to know is why you didn't send someone nearer (livingston for instance, even Edinburgh if their not available )but not someone from hillington who is over an hours drive away and then gets stuck in traffic !

I needed help after 3 years of paying them. They said they would charge £100! Don't bother with them, they will let you down!

So far my experience has not been good. I signed up online & waited over a week with no confirmation of my policy information. I had to then submit an online enquiry to find this information out & that's all I've had (an email with my details). Not a good impression so far.

2gether breakdown cover isnt worth the paper its written on! I phoned up in May 2015 with a reverse gear problem and was told by advisor on the phone that..and i quote.." the guys arnt proper mechanics so are only able to tow you to the nearest garage" so i said dont bother! The problem turned out to be a broken reverse gear which after getting back to Cornwall from Berkshire ( 280 miles) resulted in needing a new gearbox...so im afraid 2gether breakdown service is rubbish and what i want to know is CAN I GET A REFUND FOR PAYING FOR THIS RUBBISH??

I complained regarding an issue I had with you. I received a letter from you saying you were reviewing my complaint and be in touch within 14 days on my receipt of letter. That was in March. I'm still waiting despite emailing the person named as dealing with my complaint. Absolutely dismal service.

I would not recommend this company. When we phoned about a minor claim (the car would not start), every excuse was offered about why they could not come out and have a look at the car. I guess you get what you pay for - so it is worth forking out a few more pounds and going for a more for a reputable company who will provide a better quality service.

Initial price for cover was really good but when 4 months later I changed my 56 reg VW Golf for a 61 reg (virtually identical model) I was charge a whopping 107% of the original fee! The explanation for the charge was "we have no history of the reliability of the new car". The fact that my newer Golf is only just 3 years old and VW Golfs have a pretty good reliability record I find this nothing short of extortion and exploitation.

I have been very happy with 2Gether's Motor Insurance, so I opted to take out breakdown cover with them. I have been very disappointed with the service. Firstly, on my first call to them, they had no record of my subscription to the service, so I ended up having to rely upon the kindness of a stranger. This was an administrative error on the part of 2Gether. Unusually, I had cause to call again shortly after (having not had a breakdown for several years). On this occasion, the problem was broken fan belts on my vehicle. My case was referred to a third party, who had no idea what to do with me. They eventually dumped me on a Mitsubishi dealership in Bristol (200 miles from home) on a Friday afternoon at the beginning of a bank holiday. The dealership were booked out for repairs and were closing for 4 days. As it happens, they took pity on me and one or two employees went out of their way to find parts from a different local supplier and help me fit them (it's not an easy vehicle to work on). Were it not for their good will, I would have been scrambling around for a hire car on a Friday afternoon to get home to see my family....and then would have had to hire another to return to Bristol on the Wednesday. I will not be taking out the breakdown cover again. I'll go with one of the bigger companies who can actually deliver and who don't have all kinds of caveats and exceptions (eg. it's a £90 charge if you have a flat battery).

Unfortunately broke down 2 weeks after taking out the policy. They refused to come out as the vehicle had been in the garage for some work (unrelated to the breakdown) the day before. It took over an hour on the phone to convince them that they should come out. I was also told that the relay service would not take my vehicle to the garage I chose, even though it was closer than taking me to my home. The garage that were sent told me the gear box had gone, but when I got the garage to look at it, a small link had become lose in the gear stick and it took 30 seconds to fix. I immediately joined a different breakdown service and recommend you do the same.

I was some way down the motorway when I could hardly brake my vehicle, so stopped & phoned them. I mentioned it couldn't have been the brakes at fault because the car had not long passed the mot and the brakes were cleaned. They refused to send somebody out, despite the fact I told them I had my daughter and 9 year old granddaughter in the car. I took my car to the garage, who confirmed that the brakes were ok, & if it happened again, then it was most likely the cylinder head. I dare not risk this again, so dare not drive the car down the motorway (short journeys seem ok so it appears to happen when the car has been running a while). I would have to get the garage to strip the car to see if it is the cylinder head and I can't afford to do that, though I guess if I did, your company would have to pay for it because it would not have been the brakes? I certainly won't renew with this company again. They were actually rude to me & said if I wanted the car recovered (I was scared to carry on driving), they would have to charge. I had to risk my onward journey - luckily I was near the junction I wanted to get off at & the brakes were ok on the shorter onward journey, but the same thing happened on the way home, as soon as I came off the motorway. I was travelling from Junction 11 to Jct 6. So, no, it was not the brakes at fault & 3 people's lives could have been at risk as I had no choice but to drive the car or pay a fortune for another recovery service.

Not used it since I took the cover out, however when I enquired about some of the finer details, the man I spoke to was rude, unhelpful and basically could'nt care less. He actually said "you get what you pay for mate, you buy cheap, you get cheap. So I will NOT be renewing my cover.
