“I have an Eden Veranda glass room, it cost nearly £20,000, but was worth every penny. I loved it. Then one day one of the panels shattered while I was out, the glass was everywhere, it had been projected across the room and half of my garden. Thank God my grandchildren were not playing near it when it shattered. I contacted Eden thinking their 10 year warranty would cover this, however, they said it wasn't, not really offering a suitable reason as to why it was excluded under their warranty. I have had over 2 months of negotiations with Eden and they have, as a gesture of good will, agreed to replace the panel. The original glass was installed on decking which was deemed a suitable base prior to installation, now they are saying that the damage could have been caused by either the deterioration in the decking or a fault in the manufacture. They have not been able to provide me with a pre installation survey report indicating that the site was assessed as suitable prior to installation. I believe this to be an error on their part. We are at stalemate. I have a room which I cannot use, and facing a huge cost to rectify the damage, which I can not afford being retired. If you are considering buying a glass room from Eden Verandas I would strongly recommend that you consider getting a proper survey done prior to installation, and consider whether you would be prepared for a battle if you need to claim under the warranty, which to me seems absolutely worthless. I am very disheartened that a company like this should be able to refuse repair under warranty without being able to back up their decision with clear terms and conditions in their warranty.”
