Please try these quick steps first — for iPhones the completion step is usually all that’s needed:
- Connect the iPhone to Wi‑Fi and turn it off, then back on. As our terms say: "iPhones: connecting the phone to WiFi and turning the phone off and then on;"
- If that doesn’t help, insert a non‑Telstra SIM to confirm it accepts a different carrier, and check Settings > General > About > Carrier Lock (it should show "No SIM restrictions" when unlocked).
- If you see an Apple Activation Lock screen asking for the previous owner’s Apple ID, the device is iCloud locked. As our Refund Policy notes: "iCloud Activation Lock on iPhones: Contact the iPhone owner for iCloud removal or buy our iCloud Removal service. “At first, I thought it was a scam because I read reviews on other sites about how they didn't get their phones unlocked nor their money back. After I made my two transactions to start the unlocking procedure, my bank sent me emails, texts, and a phone call because the site triggered a fraud alert... that made me nervous.
