“I am pleased with the hearth but when it was delivered it was left on my doorstep on a huge pallet with the hearth nailed to this inside half a pallet. I was told by the delivery driver that he was not able to enter my house and we would have to bring it in ourselves and then dispose of the pallets. I cannot understand why they are not able to enter the house with a mask and put the goods where you want them. We are both late 60’s and we struggled to bring the hearth inside and also why they couldn’t take the pallets away. I think this really needs to be addressed.”

“The order process was great and they let you pick a delivery date which b&q didn't so glad I went with them. Only snag was they don't bring the item into your house but leave it outside on a pallet and it's delivered in pieces not assebled. Luckily I have a partner and between us we were able to carry the pieces in and he's pretty handy so will be able to put together. Other than that v pleased with it! Hope its going to look nice when installed.”

“Was given incorrect information when I rang to ask if surround was flush-fitting, it wasn't it had a rebate. The size of the fireplace hearth was stated as 50mm thick it wasn't it was 68 mm thick. this caused delays in fitting.”

“Our fireplace arrived on Monday and we love the way it looks! The customer service was good at Direct Fireplaces for the ordering process, and we were able to use their price match guarantee successfully so we got a very good deal. I do however think that their process around delivery doesn’t work all that well. They told me that we’d get a call with a delivery date, but this didn’t come. After 10 days or so I chased this and had to do so a couple of times. It seems that the delivery is organised by the supplier, and once organised it went well. So we did receive our fireplace 3 & a half weeks after we ordered. I’m not sure though if we would have received it as quickly if I hadn’t chased this. I think that perhaps this process needs to be reviewed.”

“We ordered a Robinson Willey Firegem Visa Highline Fire. It arrived promptly enough, although covered in plastic tape as though the fire had been previously opened. Two fixing screws fell out of the box - luckily they were spotted by the engineer, other than that very pleased.”

“Fire delivered within timescale and in good condition. Supplier also helped solve problem with manufacturing defect on fire. Would have helped if we had been advised of delivery time slot and/or been given a call prior to delivery.”

“We are very satisfied with our purchase - the fireplace looks lovely. However, the website promised an agreed delivery date - this was not an option when we ordered, and when we phoned to question this we were assured we would be able to change the date with the delivery firm if necessary. However, DHL proved to be impossible to contact, and in the end I had to re-arrange a work commitment to be in when the delivery took place. Not the fault of Direct Fireplaces - but the website is a bit misleading.”

“The order process went very smoothly and the delivery time was much less than predicted. The only problem was the fitter noticed that the front corner of the fire had been damaged in transit when he opened the box. He was able to straighten out the damage and since it would be covered by the trim, he went ahead with the fitting. Fire looks good and is working well.”

“Ok service. Item was delayed from supplier and I had to phone them to get updates, rather than them providing me with updates. Had to wait 3 months for the item. When delivered we were not given a date or time and I was actually away at the time, so it was just dumped on my drive!!”
