“Attended a trial for my toddler. Session was not aimed at toddlers, it was being ran by 3 teenagers who gave long explanations, spoke quietly and weren’t engaging for the children - for the price of the sessions I would have expected an adult with experience working and engaging with young children. Complicated explanations given which toddlers cannot understand. No songs, music, singing etc, nothing to engage toddlers. It was boring and it wasn’t fun.”

We offer free trial sessions to help parents determine if our program is a good fit for their child. Our coaches, while youthful in appearance, are qualified adults trained extensively in engaging with young children and facilitating their development. We believe that dismissing their capabilities based on age does a disservice to their professionalism and dedication. Our classes are designed for toddlers aged 18 months to 5 years, focusing on developing skills beyond just football, such as numeracy, motor skills, and social interaction. As clearly outlined in our materials, we do not incorporate songs or music, as our aim is to provide structured activities appropriate for toddlers, not babies. We understand that different programs suit different needs, and our approach may not align with your expectations at this time. “My little boy loves spending time with the coach at his class in the Kirkby stadium, he come on so much used to be shy and wouldn’t go around the coach’s with out me or his dad and now does it all by himself , his speach was not the best and now he’s repeating the colour with the coach”

Thanks for the lovely review about the starter pack and the quality! Our lettering and numbers are fully colour printed and bespoke letters/numbers to our brand. This is also an optional extra should parents wish to add this on as an extra. As a comparison we charge £13.99 for up to 10 letters and up to 2 numbers on the back. A well known sports shop charges £1.50 per letter and £6 per number so our prices are quite competitive. Thanks

“Our little guy loves this program! Their motto is development beyond football and they have achieved this. As an active toddler he gets to have fun playing football without realizing that he is learning to listen/follow directions and interact with peers, he is learning about sharing and taking turns and so much more. “My daughter did enjoy it but she is quite outgoing and loves anything that’s with other children but at one point she kept saying I can’t do it and no one really acknowledged it. One girl coaching did help her In the beginning a little more which I expected as it’s her first time but this same person spoke to the group abit odd and at one point said come on get up then It just sounded rude to speak to children this way. It was not engaging at all I felt it wasn’t ran great the Instructions were not very clear on some parts they were more for ones who have been before and some of the games were a little complicated like assuming they know what the word rewind means as in going in backwards. One game was to go fast, then slow then fast and slow also running to certain coloured cones in a circle it was hectic and I didn’t see any child that understood it clearly. There were 3 coaches and two of them barely interacted well seemed a little socially awkward to be honest like they couldn’t be bothered. The one who did give instructions was just quiet at some points so it was disappointing I had to shout some instructions over to my daughter to help her understand. My daughter at one point pushed in the queue and one did try and tell her but when my daughter didn’t listen she lifted her arms in what I can think was only frustration. I feel the coaches I quite young which isn’t a problem with the correct training but just lacked experience in engaging children. I would have marked 1 star but since my daughter was happy I’ve gave 2 but huge room for improvement if I’d actually paid for the session id 100% want a refund”

Hi Amy, Thank you for your detailed feedback regarding your recent experience with our Diddikicks class in Darlington. We’re pleased to hear that your daughter enjoyed parts of the session and 'was happy'. Our Bigs class is designed for children aged 3.5 to 5 years and is our most advanced class (We start at 18m old). We understand that the activities may be challenging initially, especially for those attending for the first time when comparing to children who may have been with Diddikicks for years. As you will have seen, our coaches always vocally explain and physically demonstrate each game to ensure all children understand the tasks, even if they encounter new terms. I have inferred that you remained seated throughout the class when you said "I had to shout some instructions over to my daughter". As a parent & toddler class, it's important for parents to actively participate during the sessions if they feel their child needs it, as this support can greatly enhance the child’s experience and help them adjust more quickly to the activities. Your direct involvement would have been beneficial, especially in helping your daughter with the new tasks. We appreciate your feedback and will use it to improve our instructions and support.
