“So firstly I will open with saying there is nothing particularly wrong with this razor. That aside, the hype from the web and indeed other reviews was leading me to experience some almost mythical shaving experience, which I did not. Starting with the journey, the packaging looks good, the message is strong and the branding is clear. The box overall is nice, although the individual box for the blades themselves just has them sliding around inside. The handle is o.k., the engraving is not as wide or deep as the web images suggest, but hey, its no big deal. The plastic insert in the end of the handle actually seems to cheapen it a bit sadly, but overall it all looks good. Once you're into the shaving journey, then things get more ordinary. I bought razors and the green shaving gel, and I always shave in the shower. First go I struggled with the gooey green gel which just seems to be over-thick for the job and not really a step forward - I think personally it is actually too thick and blocks the blade up. Then onto the razor itself: Most premium razors have a pivoting head which gives 45 degrees of practically pressure free rotational pivot, based around a central axis directly behind the head. My main issue with the cornerstone razor is it relies on pressure through the handle to bend some flexible stems on the head itself to achieve any bend, and that have a pivot is on the way back towards the handle. There is no mechanism for rotation, just some bendy plastic. This means you have to press a lot harder on your face to get the same rotational effect that you get with other razors, also despite a lot of effort I just can't seem to get this razor to shave my chin and under my jawbone effectively, something I attribute to the pivot being in the wrong place, so pressure is being applied retrospectively once you're passed where it is needed. I spent time benchmarking this razor against a Gillette Fusion and a Wilkinson Sword Quattro Titanium. I shaved half my face with one and the other half with another, then swapped over for an immediate second shave to see what either razor could improve on. I learned over several days that on the flat of my face, the Cornerstone performed pretty much as well as the others when used with standard (not Cornerstone) shaving gel. With its own gel I couldn't get it to work as well. Under the jawline and around my mouth however it was another matter, both the Gillette and the Wilkinson Sword were doing a lot of "tidying up" after the Cornerstone. Overall, this razor is "fine" - it works as well as any triple blade I have bought, but compared to the market leaders it just doesn't seem to be there. This would be absolutely fine for me if the price point was different, but the Cornerstone blade is in a premium place at £14 for 6 (£2.33 each) - when you can buy Fusion blades at 4 for about £10 even without any supermarket offers (2.50 each) and Quattro's are way cheaper at £1.88 each (4 pack for 7.50 from Tesco) If you want something that is a bit "different" and will do a perfectly "fine" job, then Cornerstone ticks the boxes, but I think there is a bit of evolution of the razor head to be done before I'm going to swap over from my other shaves (and that Gel needs a re-think). I joined, shaved for a while, and am now leaving Cornerstone. I genuinely wish the Company luck, and I may well be back for the next generation of products.”

“I have shaved with Gillette for years now so thought I would try a change as the blades are becoming more and more expensive. Took advantage of a £10 off deal so got the razor and 6 blades for £4 - first result!!! Got the razor and was impressed with the feel of it and seen a few comments about the weight but I found it great. The blades are excellent as well and my first shave was perfect with no cuts and a real smooth finish at the end. The Gillette has been ditched!!!!!!!”

“I'ts a week now since I received my box, and I can only give the products a resounding thumbs up. The scrub is great, the razor gives the most comfortable shave I've had. The balm is extremely refreshing. I didn't by the gel as I prefer foam, and I've been informed a foam is being worked on.”

“I am really impressed with Cornerstone, having used their products for about a month now. I looked at the price of 5 blades for my existing razor and compared to the quarterly pack I'd get from Cornerstone; factored in the other excellent facial products and then the better quality shave, plus far less irritation. There's no comparison and I would not switch back now. Cornerstone for me!”

“I bought the set for my son, who has recently started shaving. I even had his initials put on the handle. I said to him that I would try it out first. Two weeks later I am still using it and he will have to use up my old razor blades before I buy a second set from cornerstone. Really great to use.”

“I have used my razor 3 times so far. And I really must say it is one of the best shaves I have had. And the best home razor experience I have had. It is a really close shave and doesn't feel as though I am shaving. I also shaved my head as I am a little bald (don't laugh lol). And this gave me the smoothest finish I have had. Also it did the job first time. Usually I need to go over an area more than once and I found I didn't need to using this razor. I can't stop raving about it and already have recommended someone who has actually ordered. The handle is a really good weight and the blades don't seem to drag at all. I have used almost all the other cartridge razors and this it the best. The packaging was very nice and showed how much you all care about your reputation. I wil definitelyl be ordering again when I need new blades.”

“I used to work as a machine operator and quality control for gillette.so I thought I'd compare this to my old mach3 .bearing in mind this has five blades compared to the three on my old razor.the handle is well weighted balanced compared to other makes .its well put together the platform cap spacers and blades are manufactured to a very high standard .no bent or buckled blades etc .clean shave in one stroke no drag or burn .so if it stays sharp ( only 4 shaves so far) I would say in my opinion it's the best razor I've ever used .”

“I have found the razor gives a much better shaving experience than previous cartridge razors I have tried. For the moment I am using just the razor rather than the pre/post products as I have bottles of this stuff already. If the blades last as long as my previous razor I may have fouñd my perfect shave!”

“It is hard to believe that a daily activity like shaving with a normal razor can be improved to such a degree, but Cornerstone has achieved this. I find it staggering that with the millions that the big boys like Gillette pour into research and development that they have failed to produce a shaving experience to match this one. In over 40 years I have not been able to achieve a shave that lasts for 24 hours, that is until now. It remains to be seen how often the blades need changing but so far, so good. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.”
