I am not a whizz-kid at online instructions and ended up totally frustrated. I have reluctantly gone back to my current insurer even though quite expensive, at least I can maintain cover.

More expensive than other sites I visited. The usual decent discounts seem to no longer to be available. I got a better deal from staying with my current car insurer. Shame really because I enjoyed the confused rewards.

I got confused, never heard of the recommended company before, decided to go for L& V but their website was down so went back to my existing insurers and haggled and got the price down, knowing that a better deal was there for the asking, a good bargaining chip.

Helpful in finding a good deal but keep sending me reminders even though I have already bought from them. Also, claiming rewards for the purchase is confusing and complex

The price offered had nothing included, by the i added a few essentials the price became much more expensive than my renewal quote.

Showed very competitive rates and quotes valid for 15 days. However, when I actually went to the company site to purchase, price increased substantially at the point of payment

Obviously it pays to use comparison sites to assist with renewing policies as renewal invitations are computer generated and need following up with a call to a human agent. Unfortunately this is not always easy if even possible. Be aware that once you follow through the links from Confused.com you won't necessarily get the price initially offered. My daughter's address would not drop down on the website even though the develpment she lives in has been there for years, so they need to ensure their database is up to date. I believe the Insurance industry has a flawed business model or there would not be such wild discrepancies between premiums and we could base our choices more on service and accessibilty. As it stands comparison sites are a necessary evil imo.

Easy to use but other comparison websites are cheaper

After I bought I found found a cheaper alternative than those offered by Confused - by a company outside your system. Alas the Insurance I bought stated that the cancellation period involved a financial penalty if I cancelled the same day. Thought the breathing space was free of charge. Hence only 5 marks

None of the insurers could give me what I requested - especially Nutshell. Whilst they gave me a very good price they were not willing to give me details of my cover and were very rude when I requested further info. Others at least replied where as Nutshell ignored my messages or replied with added !!!! indicting their annoyance towards me.

Whilst I can’t complain about the price and policy I ended up taking I did have an issue which cost more than what was quoted to rectify. My job title for some reason didn’t transfer through to the insurer correctly and upon requesting to cancel an old policy which happened to be with the same parent insurer. This error was pointed out to me and I was then given an ultimatum of pay the price to amend this or have the insurance cancelled either by myself (at an additional cost) or by the insurer which then blacklists you as a customer so ultimately left me no choice but to pay the extra charge. Needless to say this was very frustrating especially as my details were correct in confused.com and all I did was accept the policy and set up the payment so missed the fact this had changed somewhere along the way.

got me a good price but left me a bit confused.com. The link to the co op website seemed to forget that my original Confused quote already included legal, but wasn't added in their quote. Also, claiming the Rewards was painfully slow.
