“I’m happy how the system works, however, checking a quote on a car and then coming back to it in 2 weeks or so when you’re purchasing, it almost always comes in 25% more expensive doing a repeat search when you actually need to purchase insurance, even if you set it up for weeks ahead of time.”
“My quote on confused.com included various components such as legal cover and a courtesy car.
However when I was taken to the Sterling website to actually buy the policy, they were not mentioned as being included at all.
Instead, I was then offered options of legal cover, courtesy car etc etc again, which were actually higher levels of cover and had extra costs.
The ambiguity of whether or not the customer has already purchased the addons they think they have at this point, is a carefully calculated technique and is wholly unnecessary and misleading.
This amounted in several hours of my time and energy being wasted having to call the insurance company, when I could be doing more critical and essential things.
In future you should work with the insurance company to ensure that whatever information is passed to them will be presented properly, i.e. clearing showing included components that were picked on your website.
Not happy about any of it.”
