Although Car Keys Solutions responded promptly to my request, the prices quoted were wholly inconsistent. The phone operator quoted £350, then an email at the same time quoted £300.I had a new ignition barrel on my VW Beetle - but this is the 2nd one from CKS in 2 years, which is not right. I felt as a gesture of goodwill they could at least repair the key - but was quoted £180 or £50 if done at the time. I declined. The phone operator, obviously abroad due to poor phone connection said work guaranteed for 6 months, engineer who did the work said a year. With the greatest respect to CKS. I truly hope I don’t have to call them out again but somehow feel this one won’t last. They also changed the the time of call-out whilst I was out in the morning from 3-5 to 11.30, whilst considered a good thing, I had made plans and appointments around the 3-5 slot.

The key fob for a Vauxhall Corsa 2010 was summoned in April 2022. The Keys’ buttons became ‘Jelly Like’ within 20 days and the remote locking ability vanished. The key was repaired on 15th May (accepted liability) notwithstanding the remote locking ability vanished again by 10th November 2022? Considering that the Vauxhall had travelled 7 miles since April, the defect is clearly with the disingenuous key. K so i attended Portland Road on 15th November to report the key fault for a second time in 7 months. The lacklustre associate used a ‘metal detector’ to diagnose that the key ‘worked’. As I could anticipate a denial of liability, I showed a video of the key doing nothing when the vehicles ‘jelly like’ Keys are pressed. The lacklustre associate blamed the vehicle, and based on their 1 second metal detector result, refused to open up the key. This associate reluctantly confirmed that I’d had the same problem in May 2022 but blamed the car and there denied responsibility. Utterly poor business after the fact whilst they are off course happy to charge an initial fee when you lose your key etc. Lesson learnt, pay the balance that the dealership asks.

Booked online, then got a call from the company asking if we could transfer it to a home visit that would cost £10 more than the shop I agreed to that. The agreed time was a 5pm a few minutes later we got a call back asking if l could make it 4pm once again I agreed, I went home straight away and this was at 3:15pm. The technician arrived at 8pm. When the technician arrived he was very thorough only took about half an hour to actually do the key. Service from the technician was very good but poor service from admin.

Dear Stuard, Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience. We do our best to complete our jobs as soon as possible, but sometimes unexpected connection issues arise. Please be assured that we will do everything possible to keep the wait as short as possible.

The guy who came was, prompt, helpful and had everything done in less than an hour. However, two niggles. Firstly didn’t have a Mazda logo to put on the key. Secondly and more significantly I realised later that the key is slightly too long to flip out and gets caught on the housing of the key. You have to lever it out with a fingernail. Not great for £170. I will also say the key feels a bit more cheap and plasticky than I would have hoped but that’s not a big deal, it was only ever bought as a spare.

Like we discussed over the phone one of our technicians will get back to you to figure out the issue as soon as you're car will be back to you. Can you kindly rewrite your review? We are very friendly and we want to help you! Thank you!

Mobil technician came out to code my new Ford Focus key . He said he couldn’t do it there was a problem with the car . Paid 80 pound . Then I had to pay a machanic to try fix the problem . He put diagnostic machine on it and error codes come up saying that incorrect key code ignition key transponder. Code 2 . Ignition key transponder signal not received. The car was running and working fine before I damaged the original key . They come out and coded another key so he says . now I can’t drive my car . 😡 called office in other words they said it was noting they done . Waiting for them to call me back . And was told by a member of staff that they will not be coming back out I have to get my none running car to there garage which will cost me another £70 pound and then £50 an hour labour charge . I have a disability and I rely on my car to get me around . Thanks to car solutions I’m now house bound .

Please accept our sincere sympathies with your current circumstances. We’re really sorry to hear of the poor experience you’ve had with Car Keys Solutions. We aim to provide excellent service to all of our customers. This definitely doesn’t sound like the experience you’ve had. Unfortunately as advised by our engineer the immobiliser of the car does not recognize the key, so there is a fault with the immobiliser and further investigation is required. We advised that our garage would be able to help but not our mobile service, seeing the circumstances. If you would like to discuss this further, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Was not given clear indication when key would be returned as the only one I have after initially trying to purchase a spare key. I am 63 yrs of age and needed to do some shopping and need my car. I waited 6 days for my keys return when if given a estimate at the start could have shopped before going ahead with the repair.

We are extremely sorry you had such a frustrating experience. We aim to provide excellent service to all of our customers. This definitely doesn’t sound like the experience you’ve had. Unfortunately, collections and deliveries are delayed at the moment as everyone works with limited staff due to the current situation, but we should've informed you that the process would take longer. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Call them up hoping they can rectify my honda civic key fob problem. Turned up 1.5 hours later. After 1 hour, despite his best efforts, he failed. He has suggested an arrangement to bring the car to their garage to resolve.......decided no point as it may rack up even more costs to me, as it could be an electrical problem. Was having high hope. Just very disappointed at the outcome.

We're extremely sorry that you had to face such difficulties, problems in customer service is not something we are known for. However as you have seen our technician has tried hard on your vehicle to synchronise the module unsuccessfully but you've been aware of the difficulty of this type of job as our technician mentioned to you over the phone from beginning that most likely is an electrical fault cause by the recharge of the battery and the vehicle will be required in the workshop.

Don't like being told one price on the phone for basic diagnostics that one it is carried out get another price!

Id start by saying the replacement works and does its job. However - we explicitly asked and were promised the key was identical to manufacturers key, instead we got a key available on Ali Express for £10 which was quite different from the original. So your paying ~£200 to have it programmed. I do expect honesty and so would warn people what to expect.

The initial service is great, fast and efficient , but then if something goes wrong with the key they don't want to know or help and want to charge £120 call out fee. How convenient, out of warranty by a couple of days

We explained clearly the situation with a car key replacement, and on the strength of the initial good service we also ordered a spare for our other vehicle. However, since then a previous key we had has stopped working, and we were then told this should have been explained to us at the time - it wasnt and now we have a faulty spare that we want to be reset - we were quoted a minimum of £80 to do this - and based on the fact we weren't clearly given the full picture in terms of what keys would and wouldnt work after the service we feel this should be done free of charge. Please call me on 07720 262 320 to resolve. If this can be done I would have no issue recommending you to anyone for future work.

In the first instance these guys were great. Responded quickly and replaced my car key within 3 hours. Couple of gripes. They couldn't replace my key like for like. So rather than replacing a 4 button key I received a 2 button key so I could no longer open the boot from the remote. When I asked why, he said he just couldn't do it. This was an insurance job, and they insisted that I pay and then get it reimbursed through the insurance company. This wasn't a huge problem, but it was not what I thought had been agreed on the phone, and the technician couldn't raise anyone in the office to clarify (it was a Sunday though). Biggest problem though. I have a Rotary engine in my car which means you can't stop and start it without clearing the fuel out of the engine. Next day I go to drive the car and it is flooded. Had to call out the RAC to get it sorted and obviously was 3 hours late to work. Maybe I should have told them it was a rotary engine, maybe they are automotive professionals and should know this stuff. Its debatable. I raised this with them via email and sent a follow up email. After three weeks they haven't responded. Friendly people which is why they get a poor rather than very poor. But come on. Communication is king, not just before you get paid, but afterwards as well.

Dear Mr Mahoney, First of all, thank you for your business and as regards to the discount given when you have cancelled was only because the technician slot was already booked for yourself and was to late to change it to another customer. As you can appreciate yourself a cancellation when schedule is organised it can affect all the work flow. However we stand for what our 98% of customers rate as a 5 star service. Regards

No star rating given as overall situation has not been completed. I am awaiting a response from Nic. Office manager with regards to his investigation into telephone conversations that I had with Alex regarding my requirements . On completion of his findings I expect a mutually acceptable resolution for both parties. Had to give a star rating although I tried not to . I am hoping to give a better rating on completion of my situation !
