They push the delivery time to the max. Took all 10 working days to get a small delivery. When I called to ask where it was after the first week they just said, “ we have 10 working days to deliver it to you”. I guess I should not have planned work until I had material, I did not plan for the dragged out delivery. Material is the same no matter where you go so no comment on that. Service can be improved a lot. Don’t see any reason it took so long, and if they knew it would take a while they could have informed. I’ll use local suppliers now, might pay more but at least I know when I’m getting something.

Delivery was charged at a reasonable rate but took over ten days to arrive. I would have accepted this on FREE delivery terms but not for a paid service. I was then told the night before that delivery would be 8-9 the following morning leaving me no time to re-plan current jobs. Wouldnt use again. On a positive note items were packaged well and delivery driver very helpful.

Dear Sir Thank you for the feedback, the £24.95 delivery charge as you put it is reasonable, because it is actually much less than the economic cost of actually achieving the delivery. There is not such thing as a free delivery, the costs are always absorbed somewhere, and usually in higher product prices. The materials you ordered could have indeed been ordered from screwfix, with a free delivery. However with their minimum quantities (5 sheets) you would have had to have ordered 4 sheets of the 4M x 1050mm which would have cost £68.99 per sheet, so the 5 sheets would have cost £344.95 delivered instead of the £178.01 that the materials you ordered did cost fully delivered. We have many happy customers due to the balance of value and service that we provide and regular customers appreciate this and work with us. Sometimes when speed of delivery is the key issue for them we can organise special deliveries at the true economic costs of doing so (by phone quotation only), or they collect themselves solving their own transport issues. I hope this is of help for future orders for you and hope you also like the free gift. Yours C & A Building Plastics

purcahsing the goods was ok they did the measurements and worked out what the materials were, but their returns poluicy was 14 days. i went back well within this time and was grilled and interrogated as to why i over ordered, why i was returning the goods etc and it went on and on. i found their manner to be poor and lack customer service that it has put me off from shopping their again. every item i was grilled as to why i was returning it

Hi Thank yo for the feedback, we are sorry that you feel that it was an interrogation. It is however important to collect data on why you no longer wanted the items so that we can analyse the reasons to try to minimise it in future. Returns is a waste of time and inconvenience for the customer returning the item, and is an allocation of resources that could be used on better serving customers in other ways. There are also costs associated with it, and if we can minimise these, then we are able to offer the saving on to our customers. So as you can see it is quiet an important function to try to keep to a minimum to ensure customers are served well I hope this helps C & A Building Plastics

Dear Art Lyn All Thank you for the feedback. We handle products that require special transportation requirements and so we have vehicles specially designed for the purpose. Our standard delivery is set on a milk round and the £24.95 does not cover the true economic cost of running the vehicles, let alone for set date deliveries. We do keep customers informed with emails and phone calls, but the transport situation is forever fluid due to new orders, staffing, vehicles, roadworks and more. We do offer as set day / time service if the timing is the key requirement to your order, and this has to be arranged specially with the sales rep on the phone. Transport will then do the costing for the running of the vehicle to meet your requirement and provide you the price for doing so. Looking at your order however the cost of achieving this would have been significantly more than the value of the goods ordered, but the option is there should you need it in future. Some customers who have extremely pressing deadline such as scenery companies will often run their own vehicles to meet the key requirement for their project, which is timing. As with all projects, the key part is to decide what is the most important aspects of the job, whether it is the actual item (people get very fussy of things like sofas), the speed at which it is received( people wait months for sofas), or the cost of the product (again sofas range from tens of pounds to thousands of pounds each). It is true, customers would like the best quality, delivered in 2 seconds time at for free, but this is not possible. It is our job to communicate the options clearly to you so you can decide what is the priority for you (quality, cost or speed) and for you to communicate with your customer and work out what is their priority. This is often a difficult task, as it requires more than simply always saying yes. Yours C & A Building Plastics

Went to the Gillingham location to buy a length of cladding. Paid for the item and was told it was outside. Went outside and found the item with a clearly damaged corner! Went back in to get it changed, the lad didn't seem that bothered and seemed quite put out that I had complained, although he did change it.

Thank you for the review I have looked at the order and can see that you placed the order online on the Thursday 13th April before the long double bank holiday Easter weekend at 6.24pm (after we are closed for the day), This was then processed the first working day available (Tuesday 18th) and was dispatched on the 21st on the first vehicle that covers the west country TR post code region. You ordered the Full flow guttering, what was it you were meant to order? We also email and post acknowledgments to give you an opportunity to check what you have ordered and it could have been amended prior to dispatch by calling us on 01634 374444. We hope this information helps, and look forward to hearing from you on your next project C & A Building plastics

I expressly said that delivery was required by Tuesday at the latest as the materials were for an exhibition. When I chased delivery I was told that I had been scheduled for a Thursday deliver! I then had to go and collect the materials myself and pay for them again.

I had spent £1000 on polycarbonate sheets and other accessories for it but was given guarantees on dates for it to come it only to realise past the day of the order they were out of stock even when they took my order. Then I was given another date which they made out to be an earlier date which again became the later date. All in which my builders still had to be paid and were just waiting on these items. The person I spoke to over the phone was of no help and rude in manner. Appalling customer service.

Thank you for the feedback These details are being forwarded so that they can be investigated. It is never recommended to book labor for any building work until you have received all your materials from any merchant and checked them over.

Rung your east end depot to check you had I needed and was told all was I'm stock. When I got there it wasn't which lead me having to drive to your Kent depot. Having come from SE London it was very frustrating.

Dear Mr Matthews Thank you for your feedback, we are sorry you feel you had a poor experience. Our stock checking system can only show stock that is currently available live at that time, and not at the time someone arrives. From looking into your order it appears another order had been placed prior to your arrival for the galvanised sheets. The London depot can only hold limited stock due to its size, location near to Canary Warf; it also has a very busy trade counter and so stock fluctuates on a minute by minute basis as it is sold to customers. It is unfortunate that another customer purchased the galvanized sheets prior to your arrival and order, and if we could predict a week in advance the exact materials all customers will be purchasing we could ensure that they are there, unfortunately our crystal ball is not that proficient. Many of our regulars who have pre scheduled work do in fact do this, by placing their orders in advanced and securing the stock, this may be what you wish to do in future. S pent almost £200 on decorative bargeboards which arrived in a filthy state. spent an hour cleaning these up with PVCu cream cleaner. Any high street shop or DIY place would not sell this item in this condition, so why should C&A plastics. Mr S Austin.

I had used CABP a few times before and had always been happy with the service but not on this occasion. The delivery time I was given was 5 to 10 working days and I would be contacted nearer the delivery day. After 10 days of hearing nothing I contacted Customer Services. The operator was quite rude and fobbed me off with some excuse about 2 delivery drivers being off sick. I said this was no excuse and I should have at least been contacted about the delay. He reply was to call his boss a wa##er which was very unprofessional. After about 15 days I received an email saying my delivery had been dispatched and would be with me within 5 days. Surely dispatched means it's on the lorry and on its way. 3 days later the driver texted to say it would be with me the next day. On the day of delivery I received a phone call from the driver complaining about how busy the road was and how he couldn't stop there. I told him that the address had recently had loads of work done and many drivers had parked up and delivered goods to that property without problems. My customer said he eventually parked up and ranted and raved as he helped him unload. All in all an extremely unprofessional service on this occasion.

Hi Thank you for the review, we are sorry that you feel you have had a bad experience on this order. I have looked into this and can see you have bought from us several times before, and clearly you feel we have not lived up to those past positive experiences. Looking into this order there do not appear to be notes attached with regards to the conversation you had with the operate you say was rude, this is highly unusual and the further accusation we take very seriously as the behaviour you describe is clearly not professional, and we do not condone this type of behaviour. If you recall the name of the operator we would appreciate being informed so that we can ensure this type of incident does not happen. I have looked up the driver you mention and we will be having an interview with him on his return from this week’s deliveries. The behaviour your customer describes sounds very uncharacteristic of this driver, who has been with us for over 20 years and we constantly receive praise from customers on him specifically, but we always want the best service from our customers and will investigate further. Rest assured we constantly look to improve, balancing service with value, and as with all businesses there are occasional hiccups that occur but we try to resolve these quickly and efficiently so that normal service is resumed, this we feel is reflected in the highly positive reviews that are left. Thank you for your feed back however I think this is a complete unwarranted review as we dispatched your £1.20 order within a few days and we never once stated 48hour if you read the listing on ebay it clearly states please allow 5 working days and you received the order within this time scale. We do value our customers feed back however we did exactly what we stated.

I purchased a roof dome 600mm x 600mm although that is not what arrived some 10 days later! I am disappointed with the service and, despite twice offering to pay for next day delivery, no-one got back to me. What actually arrived was a 850mm x 850mm perspex dome shape section which I can't use. The late arrival of the wrong product has held up the carpenter and roofers on my job and I am not happy.

Thank you for your feedback We are constantly trying to improve our systems, it is difficult to meet everyone requirements in practically, as different people value different aspects of the service. Many value the logistics issue of moving large products that they can not achieve, others value the low cost of the delivery, others value the speed or a set time of delivery but are willing to pay the true economic cost of achieving this. Our set system is there to cover the majority of customers, we do often provide bespoke services for clients by quotation and this can be discussed with a sales person at the time. Looking at your order however, to provide such a service it looks like the economies to provide such a service would have increased your total order value by 30-50%, but for some such as our scenery building clients this is understood and they regularly take this option, or send their own HGV's I hope this has been of help

I ordered Some polycarbonated sheets700x1200 unfortunately only one side was a good edge, the others were cut out of a larger sheet leaving nasty cut edges. I was not made aware that this would be the case. It is not what I wanted.

Dear Jim We have looked at you order and you did order 25mm clear polycarbonate 700x 2500mm. It is industry standard to cut these from the largest sheet (as it is 1/3rd of the width), and is a service that is provided to prevent excess waste and cost by buying either the 980mm or 2100mm wide sheets that come off of the manufacturers extrusion lines with two extruded edges. Any 700mm wide sheet purchased in the uk will at most have only 1 extruded edge (and 1 in 3 will have 2 cut edges when it is the central panel from the cut sheet). This does not affect its functionality or serviceability when it is installed, and most sheets will often need trimming further to meet the site specific conditions. Yours C & A

I recently purchased self supporting roof beams and polycarbonate sheeting. Having not recieved notification of a delay, I rang after the given 10 working days, to be told that stock was due the following week. That week came and went and I phoned again, to be told I was on back order. On both occasions I had to initiate contact and it was felt that the sales people were uncaring and had bad attitudes. A supervisor did phone me back to resolve the issue. I had to cancel half the order due to stock issues and the balance arrived some 24 working days after the initial order.

We were charged twice for delivery, although I made two orders, they both came on same delivery and when I rung about this, I was told that we could not have a refund on one of the deliveries as the orders were made at different times (they were only made 4 days apart as I realised I had not ordered enough on original order). Surely as the orders, for which we had to wait rather a long time for! were despatched at the same time and came on the same wagon we are entitled to a refund. W have also used your Company before on various occassions, but are very disappointed that we cannot have a refund.

Dear Robert Thank you for the reply, I have looked into these orders you mention here. It is a fact that our system is that every separate order has a delivery fee and this was clearly displayed online when you placed the second order. This went through the entire system with order confirmations on email and post. These orders would have gone through the warehousing system independently all with their own paperwork but did coincide onto the same delivery vehicle. To ensure that all the items are on one delivery and all on one paperwork which would then entitle 1 delivery charge, all the items need to be placed on order together. In you case this would mean the requesting of the origional order to be canceled prior to despatch, a request to warehouse would then be put for the notes to be pulled and brought back to the office (after anything that had already been picked was unpicked and put away again), Once the paperwork is back in the office the order would be canceled and either left as a credit on the system(to be used) or refunded back to the method of payment. At which point an order consisting of ALL of the materials you want could be placed and would then only incur 1 delivery charge. Yours C & A
