“We use Busy Bins because two people in our household have a serious illness which means we produce extra waste. Our council usually empties "slim bins" every 2 weeks for general waste and even though we recycle as much as possible with their recycling bins and giving things away that we don't need, we were accumulating rubbish every week that we couldn't dispose of. As I am a wheelchair user and my husband had major spinal surgery, we're unable to squash down anything in the bins. Our disabilities mean we can't drive to the tip. A lot of the rubbish we need to dispose of is not medical waste - even though that alone does take up most of our council bin collection. We also have around 50 medications a day between us which produce lots of non recyclable plastics. Due to us often being unable to leave the house and working and studying at home we have most of what we need delivered which means we have boxes and packing materials that need to be disposed of. If we don't have the strength to break them down they take up a lot of room in the bins. We're also a "normal" young family with children, pets, and creative hobbies that produce all the typical rubbish any household would have! So what would we otherwise do with it when catheters can fill the grey bin in a week! It was getting too costly and inconvenient to ask friends and family members to queue at the tip for petrol money, and we have nowhere to store it to get skips, so over the years we've used Busy Bins on and off when we have been struggling. We are returning customers as I've always found them to be reliable and affordable! I couldn't believe the low prices when I first signed up. If I ever have a query they respond almost straight away and are always polite and helpful. When I was worried I wouldn't be able to put my bin out for collection Busy Bins arranged for it to be moved from the usual spot where my council picked it up as part of their "assisted collections", which I feel was really inclusive of them. For half the price of a takeaway or two bus journeys each month, we have peace of mind that we aren't attracting rats, we're not breaching our tenancy and we're definitely not paying unlicensed removal companies who will dump it all in the woods so we get fined. I can't recommend Busy Bins enough, especially if you're disabled and your council service does not meet your needs.”
