“I am generally pleased with the quality and outcome. The photographs are very nicely and accurately printed. However, my mark is not as high as it might be as I was not as happy with the second order on arrival. The books (4 in all) were not in such strong plastic packaging and had slipped out of the 4 protective corners (this seemed to be skimping - 4 corners for 4 books meant 2 corners on every book were not protected or held firm). The books had been thrown awry in the cardboard packaging and the plastic on the books was heavily scored. I do not think there is damage to the books inside although I will not know for certain until I have removed the plastic which at the moment I want to leave to protect them. They do not look that nice presentationally! The first 2 books (first order) were protected on each corner and had removable more robust plastic protection. This means I can sign a book and return into protection, and it still looks good. I cannot do this with the sealed 2nd order books. Disappointing!”

“Overall I am very pleased with how my books have turned out. I am a photographer and have created a few books from yourselves of the weddings that I have done. The only thing that I would of liked that you don't do is adding less than an extra 8 pages! I will would like to see an option where you could add maybe 4 pages extra rather than 8”

“Once you understand how the design works, it's pretty straightforward. I enjoy using a single image to fill a page, almost as wallpaper and then overlaying smaller images on top. Being able to share a link to the finished design is a great feature and allowing others to order. However, the review size is too small to really appreciate the final production. Order processing is straightforward,mother feedback good, delivery efficient and the quality of the end product excellent.”

“This was the first time I used the large landscape format, and the photobook is utterly stunning. The lustre photographic paper is wonderfully thick! Bob Books support staff responded immediately to any questions I had, and the turn around time for the final product was very reasonable. I appreciate the consistent communication regarding the status. I'm still learning how to compensate or not for brightness and contrast, so in some cases my own over-correction resulted in a reduction of whites. Nonetheless the book is a treasure. There was one disappointment, however; the pages of this large book pulled away from the spine the 3rd or 4th time that I was looking at the book. Certainly a stronger glue is needed for a book this size.”

“My book is great. I thought the delivery time was a little bit long, but I wasn't in any rush, so that was fine. The software has some issues and sometimes I have to restart the program a few times. But I am happy the way I can adjust the photos and choose the sizes and the layout individually.”

“Some trouble uploading my order, but Bob Books were very helpful in offering advice and made sure I still qualified for the special discount offer even though I hadn't been able to upload successfully until the day after the offer was supposed to expire.”

“I decided at fairly short notice to put together a book of photos for my mother -in - laws 90th birthday. We have only had digital photos since 2003 and I thought it would be nice for her to have something to show and keep. We have taken her a way twice this year, and had a number of nice up to date photos. I was very pleased with how the book turned out, but more relevant, mother in law was delighted with family photos of meaningful occasions going back to 2003. She kept picking up the book and going through it with whomever was willing to share it with her. In this day of digitalised photos the printed version can't be beaten.”

“I started by trying to convert a PDF file to a book, and all seemed well until the very end when it turned out that every single page of the PDF was not up to the quality required. There was no upfront warning of this, which Bob's Books recognised and apologised for. (Hence only 4 stars). I then used the build your own book, and this was fine, as it gives you an immediate feedback on the quality of the photos etc. I ordered the glossy paper, and I must say the finished product is excellent quality. I am really delighted with the look and feel of it. If you haven't used the software before there is a bit of a learning curve as to be expected, and it does take some time to build the book. The finished product is well worth it though.”

“I opted for a softback photobook having tried a hardback last time. Having selected the photos for the book in no particular order it was not helpful for the software to populate all the pages automatically - I would much prefer to fill blank pages the way I did with the hardback book. The range of formats and backgrounds was very good and the final uploading of the files went without a hitch. The resulting book looked really good. The price was pretty fair considering the quality.”

“It would be good to have the help line open at week ends and in the evenings on week days. It is easier to talk over problems over the phone rather than writing emails.”
