“Simple to use the on-line templates and very pleased with the number of options available. Delivery problems reponsible for missing the top rating but absolutely delighted with the album - exceptional value for money. Friends and relatives amazed at the quality!”

“The process of putting together the books is very easy and Bobs Books is now my website of choice as I regularly put together leaving books for children. However, I would very much value the option of being able to send the link to the year group (40 parents) without having to make the book public. A few parents have asked me to convert the book back to private as soon as it has been viewed (for child protection purposes) so this ability to send the link to more than 10 people would be very much appreciated.”

Hello Monica, Thank you so much for taking the time to send us your feedback. I'm pleased to hear that your book is proving popular, and understand your need to keep it private. In order to be able to send a private book to more than 10 people, what you need to do is send it privately to yourself. Then when you receive the Url, you can share this with as many people as you like. Please note the link will only work for about 10 days, and then after that you will need to apply for a new link. “The quality of Bob Books is generally excellent. I have made about 7 albums using Bob Books and have always been happy with the finished product. It would be nice if they offered different covers - e.g. plain leather covers. Sometimes I have had to wait a while for delivery but otherwise very good.”

“My book went missing in the mail, but I was sent a free replacement, which I was very pleased about. The book is generally really good quality, but a few pictures are very blurry, which wasn't apparent when I was dropping in the photos on the website. It would be better to be able to have an accurate review of what the book will look like for photo quality so you can select alternatives if a particular photo won't look good in the book.”

“Your album software, although excellent, does want modifying - 1. Have the inside of the front cover matching the front cover. 2. Get rid of the white page at the end of the album. 3. Have the inside of the back cover matching the back cover 4. The image editing effects are very poor. The only useable one is the black and white. 5. Make it easier to fade a background image. 6. The blue and orange heart frames are 'tacky'. None of the masks and frames would be welcomed by any bride and groom for their album. 7. Every time a new page is gone to, it reverts to Overlapping 2 photos per page. Can you make it so it reverts to Favourites. It does this even after following the help files to stop it reverting to Overlapping. 8. Have it so that when a user creates a Page Layout for one size of album then this layout is available for all sizes. 9. Simplify the need to have two files per album i.e. the .mcf. This is confusing especially when adding extra photographs. I hope my comments are taken as being constructive rather than destructive. I am glad you have sorted out your despatch department. Albums are no longer coming marked. I do hope this gets to the software people. Regards Roger”

Thank you so much for taking the time to send us your feedback. It is invaluable in helping us improve our services. You have made a lot of great points and these will be passed onto the relevant departs where necessary. We are working on having a choice or changing our end papers for the front and back covers, this is something we help to implement in the near future. The last page at the ned of the book will remain black, as the content pages and cover pages are printed separately. This page has a barcode on it, that makes sure the correct content page and cover page is put together and this barcode contains the information to make sure the correct book is sent to the correct customer. We do not allow this page to be designed on as the barcode will spoil the design printed on this page, for this reason it is left blank. We are always working on updating and improving our software, I will pass on your suggestions about the image editing and also the layout choice default. Having the custom layouts available for a format sizes is something I will also pass on, but please note it would not be possible to have portrait layouts available in square or landscape books, but it should be possible to have for large portrait books. Could you please give me more information about the problem you have with the 2 files. One file is your book, but the other is a folder the images used in your book. It is not possible to save this as one file. The files are saved together so should be easy to find. Could you please explain the problem you are having with this and perhaps I can help you with a solution. It is very unlikely the format will change for this. “Excellent, flexible and intuitive software, easy to operate. Huge choice of styles and effects. One big drawback: there is no provision of taking your book-in-progress from one computer to another. I work a lot in Spain, and cannot bring my Spanish work back to UK to work on it further there. You can do this in Blurb: why not in Bob?”

Hello Ian, Thank you for taking the time to write your feedback. I just wanted to follow up your comment regarding moving your book. I am assuming that you are using our Bob Designer desktop software. It is possible to move the book files from one computer to another. You'll need to make sure that you have the same version of the software installed on both computers. Where you saved your book you should find a folder ending in mcf-Dateien and two files ending in .mcf saved with the name you've given your book. I recommend you put these three elements together into a folder when transferring the files to your other computer. You can then either start the Bob Designer software and use the "open" option to find the book and open it, or double clicking on .mcf file should launch Bob Designer and open the book for you. “Good, quick service from Bob Books. The software is reasonably flexible so you can create your own designs and the print service is good. Previously I've had issues over the printing on the spine, but that seems to have improved. Overall, a good product.”

“This is the second book that Bob Books has published for me. One on the history of my 1935 Austin 7 Nippy sportscar , the second containing 90 pages of our Family history. The quality was excellent, and your staff were very helpful in ironing out problems with transmitting over the internet. I ordered one copy initially to find the inevitable mistakes, and will then submit it again, to order for the grandchildren. We are at the end of the internet supply, so I found it easier to visit our local computer shop to transmit the book on their high speed link. It would be helpful if you made it clear that you have to disconnect the 'Bullguard' protection (or similar) first!”

“A bit of understanding and co-operation would go a long way. By mistake, I had ordered 1 album instead of 2 and soon afterwards I called to ask to increase the order to 2 albums. But I was informed that your system would not allow this and that I would have to process another order for the 2nd album. I had to pay 2 postal charges, instead of one....I was not a very happy Customer”

“Only issue is with text.'the photo insertion is great, but text is more clunky. Photo quality is acceptable but loose some depth and lustre which is probably Normal for a factory production, but speed, site navigation etc is brilliant Best, Peter”

“This is the second time I have used Bob Books for a project. The first was a 70+ page book for a wedding anniversary and recently I produced a small booklet of images of a friend's wedding. I designed the layout via InDesign and the process is very easy and trouble free. If I had a suggestion to make things better it would be for a larger, easy to view 'proofing' stage within the production process, such that you can amend things and re-upload your artwork. Timing-wise everything happened in a few days, well before the stated deadline and the book was well packed for delivery.”

“App takes a bit of getting used to my 2nd book a lot better than the first but the full pages pictures look great. Loading photos on a Mac a painful experience but it always is . Outcome looks great especially the big books”
