“I have used Bob Books several times to create slim calendars. This time, unfortunately, the calendar wasn’t bound properly and some of the pages were loose. However, I contacted customer services and they very quickly sent me a replacement with no bother. Will be using next year for calendars again!”

“The quality of printing is good and the time from downloading to dispatch is very reasonable. I was pleased to find that the helpline was promptly answered when I had a small problem, and a 'workaround' suggested. I hesitate to mention the old Apple Books, but their paper 'wrap-around' with its space for text and a couple of small pictures, oh, and its slip cover, added greatly to their appeal. Any chance of...? Nevertheless, Bob Books is good value for money and, so far, I have not been disappointed. I would certainly recommend them.”

“Very pleased with the print quality and the number of print options available. One area I would love to see improved is the delivery information. I'd love to be able to track my order - from which stage of printing it is at, which delivery service is being used to when the print is expected to be delivered. Other than that, faultless.”

“I always use Bob Books for my photo books and calendars. I did experience a few technical glitches when placing my latest order but the customer services team was helpful and as always I was really pleased with the product I received. Overall a bit pricey but great quality and I will be using them again.”

“We are very pleased with the photo book we ordered. Everything looks as it should. The creation software provides a lot of options but there is a learning curve - some of the things we wanted to do weren't immediately obvious, and some operations could be simpler. Overall, though, we are happy and looking forward to making the next in our planned series!”

“The iPad app UI is excellent and the book and paper quality (fold flat) is better than you average iPhoto or Google Photos offering. HOWEVER, I was hoping for brighter and more colourful images in the printing bearing in mind I had selected the the best quality ‘photo paper’ option. The originals were considerably more vivid on my iPad screen. I appreciate that the printing process is likely to be heavily automated but was hoping for a degree of exposure and colour checking with the original file by a human operator. I’m beginning to think that this is just not possible regardless of which photo book company is used. Unless I can find a solution, in future I’m likely to revert to ordering individual prints on photographic paper, properly checked by hand, and build my own photo ‘book’ the old fashion way. It’s a shame since the finished article won’t look nearly so professional, but at the moment I see no other option.”

Dear Ricahrd, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I’m sorry that you were disappointed with the way your photos were printed. Unfortunately viewing images on any mobile device will make them appear slightly lighter than what is printed. That is due to the backlighting from the screen you are seeing them on. In regards to checking the files, while we do random checks in our lab to monitor the quality of our products, we have thousands of book orders come through and unfortunately we are unable to check each one of them. I would suggest that for further orders, you use our downloadable software that has an optimisation tool. This tool can amend the quality of your photos and lighten them if they are too dark. “I always use Bob Books for the quality of their editor, lie-flat books and printing. Slight reduction from 5* this time as blues have printed very strongly. This only applies to blocks of blue and their is no overall colour cast. It is a drop in their normally excellent colour balance.”

“Unfortunately this time I was a bit disappointed with the way the tone came out- the photos all printed out a lot darker in the book than they appeared on my phone.”

“Making the book was great - it took just a little time to get the hang of all the editing tools. The Chat box on the website helped too if you ran into any trouble. My only difficulty was that after a few weeks some of my pictures were deleted so I needed to make the book in two parts as it was too difficult to re-load the remaining pictures.”

“Very nicely reproduced greeting card - sharp image and good paper and colour. Have used Bob Books a number of times for this. Fairly quick delivery, too. Card creating software is a bit inflexible but not difficult to use.”

“The quality of the reproduction of my photographs is superb and the quality of the book is excellent. The turn-round time is quick though the delivery by the courier was random. My main disappointment is that, unlike another company that I have used, no pdf is available to be able to share with friends. It is an important feature and made me purchase my next photo-book elsewhere . Otherwise, the book was all that I expected and more.”

“Had a few issues with the software (file got corrupted and I had to start again) but the technical support was excellent, even though I had to download the editing programme again. Customer services were first class when I ordered the wrong size photo book. I merely sent it back FOC and reordered.”
