“The quality of the printed material is very good, and delivery times good. Particularly just before Christmas . A little pricier than some other providers, but the quality justifies this.”

“Normally very good on-line experience. Still not bad. I did have a problem uploading on the Friday night prior to the pre-Christmas deadline. It was almost certainly a failed upload but because nobody was available to talk to about it I had to order again. At this time of year I would have thought that a weekend staff rota would have been worthwhile. The lack off this caused me a lot of frustration.”

“I found the software to do the book really great and the quality of the images was excellent really professional. The book looks like really like a professional book. It took about 10 days from when I finished the design to when I actually received the photographic book. Everything I saw online corresponded to the final product except: One image was originally darker and in the book was lighter wilt me asking to do this change. I have asked to amend this and now awaiting second book ; I have contacted Bob Books staff by email to ask if is could be amended but didn't get a reply. Overall I had a great experience and I will use it again.”

“I really like the software and the finished products. I would like greater flexibility on the number of pages as I generally find I end up with spare ones and have to find ways to fill them (or ways to reduce them). I also find the proliferation of special offers a little annoying and would prefer a fixed price; you frequently offer 15% and 20% discounts but it would be much better for customers to have permanently lower prices and certainty about them. If you have 'high' and 'low' seasons then by all means charge different rates for those but advertise them so we can make the judgement of whether to go ahead and publish in the high season or wait for a better price in the low season.”

“The photographic quality of the book I have produced on Myanmar is very good. I found it easy to produce with complete freedom to set my own page layout. It replaces the photograph album of bygone times and I shall be producing others. If you think about it the cost of producing a photo-book is probably less than the cost of buying film, having it developed and printed; if you ignore the one off capital cost of digital equipment.”

“I make a number of calendars for my family each year using our travel photos and the quality of the printing is excellent. There are a wide variety of templattes to use, and if I ever have problems the customer service is most impressive.”

“I am incredibly pleased with the quality of the books. I was disappointed to have to pay an additional $100 to rush the books even though i sent in my order 5 days prior to the cutoff date for christmas arrivals. The site says to add a few extra days if you are shipping internationally. I was told later that it should have been 8 days but nowhere on your site does it say that.”

“The software is easy to use in terms of creating a book using different designs and layouts. The choice of sizes and paper quality is also good. I don't use the automated layout option as I find it easier to start from scratch rather than to edit the automated layout. Alistair”

“Generally I have had very good customer service from Bobs Book and have made many photo books since I first started using Bobs Books in 2009 and have been very happy the service and softwear. However, at the start of 2014 I have been using an Apple MacBook Pro instead of a Microsoft system. I have made 4 large format hardback photos books since purchasing the Macbook in February. The first 2 books the system crashed a lot ( around Feb 14). The second 2 books (October 14) the system was nearly unusable. I phoned customer service who were not very helpful on this matter - did I have too many apps open, were my files too big type of thing, since I have made many books I knew this was not the issue. I found somewhere in 'preferences or general' where I could tick a box to reduce crashing, this made the system far more stable, I still needed to virtually save each page in case the system crashed, better but by no means fixed. It would have saved some frustration if the CS person had pointed out the tick book to reduce crashing. I have no idea if the issue still exists until I make the next book, I certainly hope so, as a constantly crashing system is very frustrating. CS told me there were no issues with Apple OS so I am none the wiser, bearing in mind I am using a new late model Macbook Pro.”

“It is reasonably straightforward to produce great-looking photo books. The program is quite intuitive and effective. The results are excellent, producing crisp images which are well-saturated in the correct colour and bound carefully in an excellent book. You have to be very careful when writing text though since it is easy to fail to see errors even after many checks. Ordering is efficient and easy, although I would like to see the opportunity of using more than one voucher code when ordering. Sometimes we've had the issue of pages getting stuck together but the company has reprinted the album. All in all we shall continue to use Bobs Books as we think it is the best around.”

“My experience with bob books was very good, I published one small booklet using the designer software. The only improvement that I could think of would be: If I could convert the file into a pdf or convert it to an e-book, that would be fantastic. Thanks for considering the idea.
