“It was very easy to make a photo book using the desktop software, and the result has been much admired. But I'm sorry to say that was inordinately expensive, hence my rating. Even with the 20% discount offerred on my next order, that book will be published elsewhere.”

“The product is good. The issue is that the software takes approx 20 minutes to upload. Repeated contact with the help desk has not been able to solve the issue.”

“Some of the colours were printed much darker than the original photos. We ordered the highest quality paper which doesn’t remain flat - it’s now wavy.”

“My first photo book was more successful than my second - the latter had some too dark pictures in it and the soft cover is too flimsy. The service is prompt and good but go for a hardback book .”

“I prepared a book for a friend with several photos and some text. The production was good, but I would have liked more guidance on how many pages I had left or had to fill to make a full book. Other than that the presentation was nice, but a photo on the front would have also been nice. I didn't see how this could be done.”

“I found the photobook software very easy to use and it enabled me to be creative with my layout. My book arrived and a few pages were in the wrong order to my design which was very disappointing. I did contact customer services and they were very efficient and helpful in trying to help me rectify my problem. However, it meant that I had to post the book back and re send the design, which with a newborn is very difficult to do! Hence the 3 star review.”

We can offer you recommendations on calibrating your monitor, if you would like to do this before your next book. This should give you a more realistic preview of how the images will appear in print. “This was my second photobook from Bob Books. There was a printing error initially which was put right but it took quite a long time to get the new copy. My overall impression (based on the 2 books I've had) is that results are ok rather than excellent.”

“The quality of the printing is excellent. The finished product looks great and very professional. However the submission process is flawed: the designer app applied some "image enhancement" processes without my knowledge and by the time I saw this it was too late to change. There needs to be a final proofing of the images as they will look *when printed* as the final product did not match what I thought I was submitting in ways it was not possible to predict. Clearly I will know better this time, but it was an expensive mistake!”

“Bob Books are really good, easy to use, lovely finish on paper and images. Only negative is the length of delivery, took ages to receive and we missed sending the book for in time for Christmas.”

“I ordered a softback book by accident (note please Bob Books, it's hard to navigate the options with all the different cover sizes and book sizes, especially in the scrolling page when you're trying to change the kind of book. Please try to make this easier!) and was disappointed when it arrived because it had been badly trimmed. I'm not sure if this was a pre-christmas rush thing. I've always ordered hardback books before and I've always been pleased, so this was a double disappointment. Have since re-ordered in hardback.”

“The book was of good quality, which we ere very happy about. However, we thought the pricing on the website was misleading thus we ended up paying much more than expected. We though that for 9.99 pounds someone would both choose the photos and prepare the layout of the book. For our surprise, choosing the photos had a cost of 9.99 and the design another cost of 9.99. The website is totally misleading, so even though we paid for the book, we were disappointed with the cost - as it didn't match our expectation.”
