“Shipment was very fast (abroad) and the result was stunning. Some of the photos I used, looked even better in the book I recieved than the original photo itself!”

“I printed two books with Bob Books. The print quality is very high and the tool is intuitive to use. The delivery time is not short, however, which should have been a warning sign. I then used them to print an expensive wall hanging. Two months later it still has not arrived. They keep saying they are chasing it, but lets be honest if it hasn't arrived by now it won't arrive. They keep saying they are chasing the delivery company and have offered a 40% refund but I am very unlikely to use them again. My advice is to only print relatively low-priced and small items if you plan to use them. This is a shame because the print quality is very high.”

Hello Hugh, With our App you are not currently able to include text in the content pages. As the App and the books you make are saved on your device, this is not something we can offer at the moment but is something we will continue to look into. However I can recommend you try our Online book Creator as it does allow you to include text and gives more design versatility. I apologise for any disappointment caused. Kind regards, Bob Books

“I am currently very busy so I have replicated an earlier review that I have already sent in response to a Bob Books questionnaire. I have listed the questions that I was asked with my replies below. I remain a satisfied customer! This review was originally written prior to the introduction of the latest version of the Bob Books Bob Designer Version 6.0 software. • What type of books you create, and what they are for? I have published books about (mainly) wildlife subjects and some on a variety of transport-based subjects – you can see them at: http://www.bobbooks.co.uk/bookshop/author/45089/55012 . These are mainly for personal use and as gifts as they are probably too expensive to encourage buyers when the prices are compared with those of books available on-line or in bookshops but they are of course intended to be freely available for anyone to buy a copy should they want to do so. Everyone who has seen them thinks that they are lovely but they are deterred from buying them because of the high prices and I believe that to date only one copy of one of my books has been purchased by somebody else. I accept that the production costs mean that one-off publish-on-demand books will inevitably be expensive to print and I also recognise that all of the aspects of producing, storing, shipping, distributing and remaindering a print-run are neatly and sensibly side-stepped by printing on demand. Having said this I am well aware that the types of books that I have published would be unlikely to appeal to mainstream publishers. They would be seen as a potentially expensive economic risk in these apparently cash-strapped times. My emphasis has been on producing high-quality (mainly hard cover) photographic books and making good use of your excellent publishing software and printing facilities. I am therefore very grateful to Bob Books for allowing me the opportunity to publish these books with complete editorial freedom and using very user-friendly software, to update them whenever I have new photographic material available and to be very satisfied with the hard copies when I receive them. Quite apart from anything else I thoroughly enjoy the process of producing these books and I always have several ongoing projects in draft form! • If you have had any problems you would like to discuss? It would be useful to be able to edit books post-publication as even the most careful proof-reading is rarely 100% successful and I nearly always find that minor corrections are required! • Are there any new products or services you would like us to offer? I have noticed that some of your competitors, for example Blurb, are now using Amazon to distribute publications and I would very much like to see Bob Books following suit as there may be prospective buyers out there. I have put some of my short films on YouTube and since 2013 they have been viewed in more than 180 countries on almost 100,000 occasions so there are interested parties out there for the type of subject matter that I produce. I believe that some of my books may also appeal to specialist collectors, in particular the large photographic quality series that I have been publishing recently illustrating single bird species. • Do you use our Bookshop and are there any new features you would like to see in this? I do use the Bookshop but only to buy additional copies of my own books as presents, I’m afraid. • Which method you use to create your photobooks – Bob Designer software, PDF to book, Lightroom? Bob Designer software – it is intuitive and very simple to use. I clean dust-marks using Photoshop Elements. • Are you aware if our rewards scheme and referral program and have you used it Yes I am and I do sometimes take advantage of this system once I have accumulated a lot of points.”
