I found the leg very large. The top of the boot is narrower than the lower bit/calf area. So if you look from the side the leg is a big curve shape. The quality of the leather is excellent therefore I kept the boots and had them taken in. This cost me a small fortune. I would have preferred the image on the website to have shown this but I believe it is concealed.

I couldn't be happier with the boots I purchased. I live in the US, and couldn't find the boots I wanted at a price that I could afford. I was surprised I could order them from England and get such a great deal. My only objection would be that they didn't have the color I wanted, but other than that, I love them! The shipping price was very reasonable and didn't take too long to get here. updated I have discovered a hole in my boot. I haven't worn them many days. I have been so pleased with how comfortable and warm they have been, I didn't notice until today. The leather doesn't look as sturdy as I thought it would be.

Quick delivery. Lovely boots but the stitching is starting to fray around the top of after only a couple of weeks wear. After paying over £80 you’d expect better stitching!

The return policy isn’t clear. I’ve emailed Beggs to advise of my return and had no response. Instructions are on paper with the shoes, however, it as a customer paying so much for the order, better communication would improve the service. I’ve had similar issues from a Canadian store, within 24 hours they organised a return coupon and pick up with DHL at no cost to me. The return Beggs shoes have cost $50. With regret I won’t be making any purchases from you. Further more, I chose my size shoes and they were far to big... I’m assuming a big make or incorrect sizing.

Hello Janine Thank you for your feedback, I can confirm we have received your order back with us and a refund has been provided. Converting shoe sizes from EU or UK sizing to USA can be a difficult task which unfortunately can never be a guarantee perfect fit. At the moment we have no returns courier integrated with our systems for International orders, the return costs are payable buy the buyer. If this changes in the future we will of course update our returns policy with this information. Kind regards, James

The shoes were advertised as Ara a German brand. They were not Ara reason for return. The service was very good. Prompt delivery & refund. It Ara reason for three stars.

The shoes were lovely and delivery was quick however they were advertised as Irregular Choice but were actually Poetic Licence when they arrived. I emailed to inform them but did not receive a response, which has left me a little disappointed.

Great fast delivery, but unfortunately the bag was light grey & had a pen mark in the middle of it. However since it was a gift to be given the following day, I had no time to contact anyone regarding this and the recipient told me she loved it she would try to get it off.

The Rieker shoes that I bought were lovely. I have worn Riekers for a long time- in fact, I am wearing a pair right now. Unfortunately, I had to send the pair I purchased from Begg Shoes back because they were too small. The problem was the sizing itself. I have worn size 40 forever and ordered it again. In my experience, 40 is a 9, 41 is a 10 or 9 1/2. It cost me 23 dollars to return the shoes so I am unsure whether to re-order them from Begg or find somewhere here in America to buy them. It is disappointing.

Hello Colleen Thank you for your feedback, we do find sizing from UK to US can be tricky with difference manufacturers using different conversions. The return cost is unfortunately something we can't avoid at the moment as we are a UK based company and for now don't have a cost efficient way of returning goods from the US. We will continue to look for a solution and hopefully have something in place in the future. Kind regards, James

I love my shoes!the only thing is the tongue won’t stay in the middle. It keeps going to the far side of the shoe, which causes pain to the top of my foot. Kathie USA

ordered 2 pair,one fit perfectly, the other i had to return. Living in USA, not only did i have to pay $23 to ship, i also had to pay $23 to return ONE pair. Where the price of the shoes was a good deal the shipping costs prevent me from shopping at Beggs in the future.

I was disappointed with shoes as although they arrived promptly one was scuffed and a different colour tone to the other. As I needed the shoes urgently I did not have time to send back and wait for a replacement. I polished the shoes before wearing and the damage and colour difference was not so noticeable so kept the shoes which are very comfortable

The products I have received from Begg shoes have been of good quality, very comfortable and stylish. However my complaint lies with he matter that on 2 separate occasions I have received shoes in boxes that have been damaged, yet Begg hold a policy that if i return the shoes and the packaging (i.e. the box) is not in a good condition, Begg reserve the right to charged me £7.00.

Delivery was a fiasco. You would have scored zero had it not been for some helpful follow up at the end by customer service. My order was cancelled by you in error before it was shipped but I was told it had left

Hi there, I recently went to purchase two pairs of girls black school shoes in your Kirkwall branch at the beginning of August. On the first day I visited there was one choice that didn't quite fit my youngest (aged 7) and none to offer my oldest (aged 10) in her size. Both had to be ordered in due to minimal stock (this was at the beginning of August). What followed was a series of visits, ordering ins, returns and return visits until finally we had two pairs of standard black school shoes that fit my girls if the right fit and style. Throughout this process the staff at the Kirkwall branch were exceptional in their level of service and helpfulness in resolving the problem to the best of their ability with the resources at hand. I would like that to be noted. However, it was explained to me that as Orkney schools do not have a uniform policy Beggs do not keep regular stock of standard black school shoes. Whilst I fully appreciate this and that many of the parents send their children to school full time in trainers, I cannot believe that I am the only parent in Orkney who would like plain and patent black leather school shoes for their children? Black shoes are standard and useful for school and other occasions. I remain loyal to Beggs in Kirkwall because it's a great store with great service, but feel very let down here. It's also the main provider of quality shoes on the island and I would expect more stock at this time of year. There is a difference between aligning to uniform policies and having practically nothing in at all. I should not have to consider taking my children on a special trip to Aberdeen to buy a standard product when I live on an island with a sizeable population with fairly thriving retail facilities. I doubt also many other parents have the time to make these responses on line. Please can something be addressed in the lack of provision in this current system? Thank you Olivia MacPherson (I have put a three rating, but it would be 5 for staff and 1 for lack of stock!!)

Thank you for your feedback on the stock selection of black shoes and the quality of service in our Kirkwall store. We greatly value input from our customers on all aspects of our stores and will take it into account for back to school season next year. Historically, DE Shoes had to sell black school shoes at a significant loss to clear them from the Kirkwall and Lerwick stores. They did not know of the uniform policies (or lack thereof) on the Islands and bought a lot of school shoes that never sold. As you know, they sadly went out of business which is something we do not want to do. It is an extremely difficult balancing act but history suggested to us that demand for school shoes was very low and hence supply has been low. We will try our best to ensure the supply is better next time round. Perhaps it would be a good idea to encourage schools to re-instate a uniform policy? No doubt it must be expensive for parents having to pay for a “cool” set of clothes for each school day?! Kind regards Donald Begg
