“Not true to size far too big wide”

Skechers are loved for their comfort and style, especially their memory foam footbeds. Our customers and footwear experts often find that certain Skechers styles are quite generous for size and we believe this is due to the conversion from the manufactured US sizes to UK size. If the shoes are still unworn, you are welcome to return them to us in their original packaging following the instructions on your dispatch note. You would be entitled to a refund or you are welcome to place a new order for a smaller, more suitable size if you prefer. “I wanted to replace some Clark's walking shoes which were so comfy (D width) and waterproof I've more or less worn them out. So I bought the latest version of Clark's from Begg. I wore them once and found that although they were marketed as "delivering grip" they are actually quite slippy. Rather risky in wintery conditions. I would have liked to returned them but when I phoned, I was told nothing could be done because I've worn them. I emailed Begg but received no answer. So I'm not satisfied with the shoes or with Begg's service.”

“It took almost a month for boots to arrive. I want to order more as gift for friends but the time frame is too long . I couldn't get an answer in the beginning to my phone calls an emails, eventually they made contact with me Excellent selection of boots. If they sorted out the time frame for delivery ( mine went Scotland via France for a parcel to Ireland ) I would love to continue to support this long standing family business. Thank you”

Our usual delivery timescale for Ireland is 3-5 working days from dispatch, but it sounds like your parcel accidentally took a scenic route via France. “I was disappointed with the shoes because they were shown as having a zip on the front but when they arrived I found that this was false and there was no opening: there was a zip but it could never work. My other Tamaris shoes have a working zip and this was one of the reasons I bought the shoes. I sent an email to Begg Shoes about the matter but never had a reply.”

In our product description, had noted that the zip on this style was for aesthetic purposes only (non-functioning) but we understand that from the pictures it would like like any other zipping style. We have also found that different computer and phone screen resolutions can affect how the colour appears too. We have conducted an inspection of these shoes and found that the upper is made from both leather and man-made materials, to achieve the distinctive look which makes these boots so attractive. There are advantages to both leather and man-made materials, and we appreciate your feedback on this particular style. For a full leather upper, we recommend Regarde le Ciel, IMAC or Cloud Footwear which are all made with soft leather uppers. We are finding that a lot of style use man made materials in combination with Leather and this can have a few great advantages (patterns, colour, maintenance, lower cost) However I completely understand why you would be looking for a full-leather boot - we would be happy to help and advise which brands offer the best options for you. “I received my Softino washed leather sneakers but decided not to wear them until I found some appropriately coloured shoe cream. I couldn’t find the right shade so settled on the nearest (slightly greener) blue and applied the cream. They look nice. Slightly different but nice. These are my sixth pair of softino/Isla shoes. They have all been size 38 and I loved every pair. So it did not occur to me to try them for size when I received them.. I tried them on AFTER applying the shoe cream and found that they ARE A SMALLER SIZE EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE MARKED SIZE 38. Pretty disgusted to tell the truth....”

“Delighted with the speed of the delivery of my son's school shoes and the addition of a thank you note was nice touch. However, after one day of wearing the shoes to school a small problem appeared, I contacted Begg Shoes and received an email to say they would investigate the issue and come back to me. I have heard nothing until asked to fill out this review. Slightly disappointed by the after care service.”

“The service could have been better. The PO track and trace method was inconvenient - an email from Begg Shoes regarding expected delivery, would have been better. Most companies keep the customer updated via email regarding when to expect delivery.”

“buying the shoes was a good experience but I am not at all satisfied with the delivery time. I haven't yet received them having ordered them on the 4th of May. I don't have a high opinion of Royal Mail, maybe you should think of changing your delivery service?”

“I dnt recieve the rose remonte shoes as my size was out of stock even though my order had been accepted an my money taken out of my credit card so I cant review them...I got a navy PATENT brogue by Jenny by ara but really not to my satisfaction but I have kept them now ...”

Thanks for feedback. Sorry, we can’t offer free returns, we offer a subsidised Royal Mail Tracked service for £2, for your convenience. As a small business, we can’t afford to do this entirely for free. It’s disappointing the Clarks product didn’t meet your expectations this time, we have passed your feedback to our buyers and we will look to offer more alternative brands in future.

“The shoes do look lovely and perfect fit but when I’m wearing them without socks in this hot weather the insole actually sticks to foot and comes out when I take shoes off.”

“Hi. I had a problem with my order. I have a pair of size 6 Funny Dream shoes that I wear fine. I ordered a pair of size 6 from Beggs and they were way too small. I returned and ordered a pair of 6.5 and they were way too big. I have requested that the store check the size 6's were correctly sized and await this information. I am very disappointed not to have my shoes, and obviously have had to pay to return twice”
