“Ordered Lotus ankle boots for xmas gift which were shown as in stock. Got an email later to advise they were unable to fulfil the order since the item was not in stock. Seems to be the stock is not live therefore you can order and they don't actually have the item.”

“My new Nordika slipers looked like the product online. These Velcro closed-in slippers are fine, if a little long- as I'm ideally a 36.5 in size. I normally buy the Nordika mules in which a little extra length is not so critical. I will need inserts for the Size 37 as my feet are short but wide - without bunions I might be a 36. The delivery time was more than 10 days but this was a Royal Mail error plus pre-Christmas Royal Mail strikes, so Begg was not at fault and were just about to send me a replacement pair of slippers when the originals finally turned up.”

“The shoes are beautifully soft and a lovely colour but I had to return the shoes as unfortunately one shoe had a blemish in the leather. I would probably like to reorder later. That is why I have given 3 stars. The seller was very concerned and I was given a prompt refund.”

Hello Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, and I was sorry to hear that the shoes received were not as expected. This particular style by Ecco has a very soft leather upper, which is so soft that it moulds to the shape of your feet. It appears that a slight bulge in the leather had been caused by the tissue packing within the footwear, but this would have disappeared after wearing the shoes for a few moments. Nevertheless, the inner packing is something we should have fixed before shipping these shoes out to you. “They were sold to me as leather upper, and I thought good- a good pair of winter shoes but when I examined them they are actually a leather and textile upper , so can only be worn on dry days. Saying that, everyone commented how nice they were , but these days I can never be too sure they are meaning what they say to me,in a few more weeks I hope I can change the way I am thinking too. It's such a hard thing life let's hope we can all weather this storm. I digress, shoes very nice, but not what I expected, perhaps I should have rang you first. I really thought the leopard print would have been printed on the leather. I dont think I kept the box and have worn them out a few times because my feet were killing me-they are comfortable. What a complete idiot I am Please do not put this on the Internet Best wishes”

“The shoes were fine, I couldn't find what I wanted on my usual sites. The problem is with Beggs is that I am in Ireland they are outside the EU now and I had to pay nearly €20 tax to retrieve my purchase. I didnt realise this when I bought them and it made the shoes more expensive than they are. I think this should be highlighted on the webpage. Honestly I felt a bit stupid. Here in R of Ireland, we are accustomed to being connected, I suppose.”

We are working on a smoother way to Export to the EU, with the local VAT charges prepaid for our customers in Europe. Before Brexit, this was very straightforward and we hope to have a better system in place soon. “Ordered a bag online for Mother’s Day but then received email saying out of stock after money taken. Three weeks later and after numerous emails from me I got refunded : I don’t think that was good customer service Beggs Shoes!”

“Shoes were delivered in a reasonable time. As children do my son decided he didn’t like them after he chose them so I had to send them back. Company have a fair returns policy but unfortunately they aren’t the quickest at giving you your money back. Same as most companies…. Quick to take…. Not so quick to give back”

Hello Gareth Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and I am sorry to hear that you were not happy with the time it took for the refund to be processed. We are very short staffed at the moment in our accounts team, and refunds are taking a little longer than we normally expect. We aim to process refunds within 3-5 working days of receiving the returned items. I have had a look at your order and I can see that your refund was processed on the fifth working day of receiving the returned goods. It can then take a 2-5 working days for the funds to show on your account, depending on your bank or payment provider. This is across the board and not something that retailers can control unfortunately. Our advised timescale of processing refunds within 3-5 working days of receipt of the goods is quicker than most big name brands, but I am sorry that this fell short of your expectations. “begg shoes gave good service , but the skechers which i ordered were not good : the inner sole lining in both shoes started coming off after 3 to 4 hours wear. not good”
