I should have bought a Weber gas BBQ much sooner instead of the cheaper ones which I threw away every couple of years! The E-220S Classic is a very solid and well designed BBQ.
Although the assembly process is laborious, it is not difficult. The instructions – all in diagrams - are very clear. It’s just “nuts and bolts” but made much easier by Weber thoughtfully welding all the nuts to the BBQ body, leaving you to simply attach screws and washers. AND all of the screw holes line up with the body parts without a problem.
WARNING – When it says use “two people” it means it! I tipped mine out of the box on my own and dented the lid! Silly!
It is 14ºC here today in Southern England with an even colder wind, but I had no problems in getting the BBQ to 250º to sear my steak. Chicken drumsticks and sausages cooked happily along side without burning, as with the lid down they cook all round and evenly and are very tasty.
With the renowned Weber “sear zone”, three burners, and the Weber guarantee, this is a superb BBQ and money well spent. I love it already!”
