“Dubrovnik and Sipan Island exceeded my expectations. Jack made very helpful suggestions regarding our holiday. I was trying to pack too much in. Sipan was just beautiful, fabulous location for rest and recuperation plus wonderful sightseeing opportunities. Dubrovnik has a magical air. Walking round the walls is a must and the cable car up Mt Srd with its history and views was wonderful. Transfers all worked well and we would certainly use the expertise of Balkan Escape for any future trips to Croatia.”

“We had a wonderful time in Croatia apart from the taxi pickup from Split airport 40 mins late and from hotel in Dubrovnik 15 mins late. Suggest changing this company as we had to phone them to make sure they coming”

“The service from Balkan Escape and in particular Jack is nothing short of excellent. Jack must have composed about 7 different packages and cost estimates for us and never ran out of patience and enthusiasm. He was determined to create the perfect experience for us as a family of 5 and one which suited our purse too. Added to that, all the extra information regarding transfers and possible ferries which we might want to book ourselves etc, we were left wanting for absolutely nothing and felt supported throughout the entire led up to the holiday and beyond. Indeed upon our return and highlighting a slight error, the acknowledgment and compensation was immediate. Very refreshing in this day and age and a company with whom you can comfortably trust to be on your side and do the right thing.”

We actually booked this holiday in November 2019 and throughout the disruption caused by Covid, Jack kept us informed and enabled us to postpone our booking until this summer. Our teen kids - usually hardcore Greek-island-holiday fans - absolutely loved it (as did we), and Croatia exceeded our expectations. Jack seemed to know exactly what we were looking for, and gave us a holiday itinerary with lots of variety and useful suggestions - all for a very reasonable price.”

The transfers were on time and the ferry tickets all in order. Our only problem was delays on the flight leaving Gatwick but that was down to easyJet and the weather rather than Balkan Escapes. “Booking process efficient and the packaged itinerary and attached tickets / transfers worked well. Accomodation in Split (Amphora) was excellent and high spec. Valamar Lacroma, Dubrovnik was OK, not exceptional and shame we had no views for the bedroom. Aminess, Korcula was small but pleasant hotel and good for a few days trip. Suggested activities were generally useful as a guide to what was available. Thoroughly recommend multi island day trips from Split as a highlight. Uber in Split was cheap to the Old Town though the bus to Old Town Dubrovnik was long and congested given the hotel location 2.5 miles from town centre. Overall enjoyed the 10 day trip and would consider future trips. When giving a budget for the trip as we did, it isn’t immediately clear what you would be getting for your money. Ie our £1500 x 4 budget for 10 days was what we chose but had I suggested £2500 x 4, would it have been substantially different? At the time of booking we were unaware. Maybe a options might have been helpful at the booking time”

“This was the first time we have booked with Balkan Tours. If possible in future I would always use them for all our holiday bookings. Our advisor Jack Fleming was outstanding. We originally booked in 2020 for my 50th birthday holiday in 2021 but due to Covid restrictions we were unable to travel. At all times Jack kept us informed of changes and country restrictions in Croatia. His service is second to none. We had not traveled to Croatia before and his knowledge and advise for the 10 nights multi centre stay we booked was exceptional. The hotels in Dubrovnik (Hotel More) and Korcula (Hotel Liburna) were just perfect the only change we would have made was the hotel Marvie in Split, it was just a super Hotel but needed a taxi ride into town rather than being able to walk in and out as we would prefer. This is purely personal preference on our part. The local knowledge and advice we received from Jack helped our holiday become a wonderful trip and we would highly recommend Jack and Balkan Tours for your holiday tour operator. Thank you for organising the best holiday for us all.”

“This is our third holiday with Balkan Escape and I cannot recommend them enough. Clear, timely communication and attention to detail. Our holiday surpassed our expectations and met our needs, for our two active boys. I don’t like busy or touristy places and budget has to be carefully managed. Jack at Balkan Escape listens carefully and tailors the most amazing trip. We absolutely love the Balkans, picture postcard scenery. We would not book a holiday with anyone else.”
