“Excellent service from Jack Flemming who went above and beyond to help when our flight was cancelled. He ensured that our holiday went ahead and sorted out the transfers and the hotel, keeping us informed every step of the way. Holiday was superb.”

“I booked a small cruise via Balkan Escape. Jack was able to help identify the vessels that met our requirements in terms of cabin availability and routes, book and liaise with the vessel company. He was very helpful and responsive. We received all the relevant documentation and information in good time. The holiday itself was just as we hoped. A lovely boat with only 20 other guests, a great itinerary that we could opt in or out of and plenty of swim stops.”

Everything worked out superbly - great hotels, locations, tips on things to do and also the convenience of having pre-arranged travel to and from the airports and between the two locations. Your service was excellent. We all had a fabulous time and would strongly recommend you to anyone looking to travel to the Balkans or elsewhere. There is nothing we would choose to do differently on reflection. Your support in making choices initially for the holiday and then having very clear and easy to follow instructions greatly removed the typical stress of a holiday. “Excellent holiday, very well organised - never had such smooth transfers from airport to hotel to second hotel and back to airport! Must mention our taxi driver who took us to Sipan and back and told us about Croatia and the countryside we were driving through. We stayed in Hotel Lero in Dubrovnik which was within walking distance of the city as described (frequent bus service too). Hotel Bozica on Sipan was beautiful and lived up to expectations. Very relaxing 5 days here. Would recommend Dubrovnik Walking Tours (Red Umbrella tours) which we booked online - did the history walk (as opposed to Game of Thrones one) and guide was excellent and full of general advice about the city. Would definitely recommend Ballkan Escapes to others.”

“A first holiday in Croatia, we had no idea where to start, other than we knew we really wanted to see Dubrovnik. Both advisers from Balkan Escape were brilliant, responsive, helpful and knowledgeable and helped by changing things to keep to our budget, with accommodation options to choose from, that met our needs. Our trip included all transfers and all of this went brilliantly, all on time with no issues. “We had a great time on Sipan Croatia, a beautiful island staying in Hotel Bozica. It's a lovely family owned hotel with attentive and friendly staff. The food is amazing and each evening you can choose fresh fish (catch of the day) if you desire. This holiday certainly exceeded our expectations and had it not been for Jack at Balkan Escape we wouldn't have found it ourselves. From start to finish everything was seamless, the transfers via speed boat and taxi perfect. I would highly recommend this company as initially we only had a vague idea of what we wanted and Jack more than met our requirements. Will definitely book with them in the future.”

“The detail of planning done for our trip was carried out very well and what was described was of considerable help. One or 2 things could be better. The Vakamara Argosy was a beautiful hotel anx we had a lovely room, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We are quite happy to have 1 or 2 buffet meals but every night was too much of the sameness. Transfers to and from the hotel were very good although rather long between Dubrovnik and Kotor. In Kotor, the hotel room was excellent with a great view and balcony but unfortunately on the 3rd floor with 60 steps each time and no lift. Perhaps we should have enquired more about such things. (I am 80). Perhaps something to make travellers aware. Our perception was that restaurants in Kotor would be in easy reach of the hotel, but did not find this as it in involved a lot of walking to reach them and up/down rather difficult paths/steps. The alternative was bus/taxi into Kotor. However, with all that the weather was good, apart from 3 thunderstorms in Kotor. Both places have lovely scenery and access to water is very pleasant for boat trips. The one downside was the transfer from the Kotor hotel to the airport. The taxi did not turn up as indicated (at 8.20), and after much difficulty (with the help of the hotel receptionist) a phone call revealed that they had been at the hotel but did not see anyone outside so went away. They did not come into the hotel. A further taxi was secured and we got to the airport in good time. Tivat Airport was manic. Overcrowded and hot, with a Downpour when boarding leaving us soaking for 1 hour on the plane! Right from the initial contact with Balkan I felt confident that my enquiry then booking was handled very professionally and the documentation provided was of a high standard and very clear.”

“We've just returned from Croatia following an amazing holiday booked through Balkan Escapes. Jack was our contact and made everything so easy. We simply asked for 10 days at different locations and Jack did the rest. He gave us a selection of hotels at each location for us to choose and booked everything. We visited Dubrovnik for 3 nights staying at Hotel Lapad, then a catamaran to Hvar for 4 nights staying at the Amfora Beach Resort and another catamaran to Split for 3 nights at the Splendida Palace. Jack took care of everything sending documents through the post and via email. We had the vouchers in the order we needed them; boarding passes, transfers, hotels, catamarans...everything! The only thing we booked was a taxi to take us from our hotel in Dubrovnik to the ferry port. I would definitely recommend Balkan Escapes and will be booking with them again in the future.”
