“This review is for the Brodit pro clip for the Mercedes Benz E220D Cabriolet, right hand drive 2018 brodit code #313538. I would imagine that it will fit other E class vehicles of a similar age. First of all it's solid and holds the phone securely which is 95% of what is required. The 5% for me is that it's an ugly beast and twice as wide as it needs to be if like me you are using a magnetic phone mount. So, I have decided to take it off when not in use which turns out to be a lot easer than might be expected given that it is designed to be fixed permanently. The bracket is intended to be clipped on in the centre of the dash and three self adhesive strips make it permanent in that position. However, if you remove the adhesive strips and put the bracket on towards one side of the dash and then push it over to the centre, it is remains utterly secure but can be slid on and off at will. This works because the clip is designed to be centre mounted where the clipping position is at its widest. The gap narrows towards the sides which means it will happily slide on and off when pushed to or from the centre. Friction in the centre is strong enough to hold the bracket secure even without the adhesive strips.”

“There was no indication on the website that we needed a phone holder for the Brodit to work. We also thought the positioning on our Honda Jazz would not be easily visible to the driver. Waste of effort and expensive to send back”

Thank you for your review. Brodit is a two part solution, a vehicle specific mounting Proclip and a device specific holder, the two items are required to form the full solution. “This is my second vehicle to be kitted out with Babol Brodie phone equipment. In each the fitted holders were a dream to fit and look OEM standard. I opted for the type that fits to the side of the centre console in each of my vehicles and in use they have proved fully trustworthy and robust. It’s also good to know that should I change my phone type that there will very likely be a suitable adaptor that will be easy to swap over to.”

“I had a car mount from here fitted to my Jaguar for over 10 years and it was an excellent product but recently I downsized my car to a Hyundai, 2010. The Hyundai mount was sturdy but I found it interfered with the gear shift when selecting 1st gear. Babol very kindly refunded this purchase after discussing the problem. I would still recommend this seller.”
