“Jay is great. My technique has improved because I am much more aware now and less clumsy. He also intuitively gets the level of input you need. I mean by this that he instinctively understands what you're interested in and teaches you how to do it better. Really nice guy too (I never say this about people). My biggest challenge. We started a new design and brand company 18 months ago and right now the hard work is paying off, clients are beginning to call us. As a consequence I can end up doing five days a week at meetings and being in my fifties I burn out. So Jay either sees me when I've burnt out and my fingers barely know there's a head up top giving them orders or I have to blow him out because, like today, a client decides that an hour this morning should extend to five hours without them going back to their office. One day I'l come to the lesson fresh and breezy and I'm convinced Jay will think someone else is standing in for me.”

Hi Stephen! Many thanks for the review. It's great to hear that you are persisting even though you are so busy! Keep it going as you will still be making progress, especially with Jay teaching you. Then when the day comes when you are fresh for the lessons you won't have to start from scratch again!

Despite my having significant time constraints, that result in being slow to progress through the courses, Ryan has encouraged me to learn and to gain ability and confidence.”

Hi Lynne, yes it hard it can be to find time to practice and play the guitar, but it's great to hear that Ryan is working around your schedule to formulate a plan of action and structure for your lessons. You're in great hands with Ryan, so keep trying to find that practice time!

“I've been having guitar lessons with Ollie now for a year now and feel I'm making great progress. I always look forward to my guitar lessons. Ollie is a calm and encouraging teacher who will guide you through the YGA course, but also teach other songs you want to learn along the way. Ollie is patient and will take the time to go over techniques again and again, and will teach at a pace that suits. Also, the BGA site is very useful, with all the lesson material quickly available to refer back to. Altogether it's a great way to learn. 5stars!”

“With so many potential guitar tutors offering their services out of Brighton, I can honestly say that finding Ollie through ‘Your Guitar Academy’ was the best decision I ever made. Ollie is a genuine knowledgeable, down to earth guy who actively plays in various bands & his love of playing the guitar really comes through in his teaching. Ollie has a real fun approach to learning & a well-structured direction that will genuinely make you feel you are making progress in a short amount of time. “I had some guitar lesson vouchers for Christmas and after years of meaning to start learning, I finally got round to it! Tom is a fantastic teacher. He gets you playing songs really quickly so that you start really enjoying it! He is a top guy and really spells everything out for you making everything seem do-able. I cannot recommend highly enough!”

“I have been taking lessons with Bryn for the past 6 months and I can safely say that he is the man! I have had a dusty guitar sitting around the house for years but have never really thought I'd be any good or have any talent for it, so didn't bother trying. Last year I finally decided that I'd give it a try and I went to see Bryn for a trial lesson. I came out absolutely buzzing as I learnt how to play a little tune and a few chords in the first hour alone! From then on in it's been all progress and I'm now officially hooked for life! Thank you Bryn, I will continue to recommend you to anyone I know thinking of learning.”

“Dan Holton is an inspiring teacher and now he is using his experience to build a great online tuition site. I would highly recommend Dan's online guitar academy to any student of guitar and music. I have experienced different online sites but I believe Dan's to be a superior service I wish him every success in this venture.”

“I took a few months of lessons with Dan in Brighton as an adult who had learned the basics years earlier and had struggled along with tabs from the internet never making any progress. Within a few weeks Dan had stamped out some bad/lazy habits that had developed and coached me into being able to figure out what key a song is played in and being able to improvise over backing tracks or full songs. I was very impressed with how Dan tailored everything he did to my background and my goals, rather than just putting me through any pre-made lesson plans. I'd highly recommend Dan as a guitar tutor to players of any age, ability and ambition level.”

Thanks Neil! Yes, we do use course material as a basis of all of our lessons, but the tutors we take on are extremely talented and are able to tailor ever single lesson to suit the individual. So glad you agree :)

“I've learnt so much with Your Guitar Academy and genuinely feel I improve after every lesson. My teacher is supportive, fun and (really importantly!) very patient. Lessons are structured and innovative, and the awesome online assignments help guide my self-practice. I look forward to every session, can't recommend YGA enough!”

“To be honest it's been years since I had lessons with Dan, but I can definitely say that he is a great tutor, has great resources for you to take home to continue your practice with. Often tutors ignore your own tastes and make you stick to the classics, Dan manages to take this on board and integrate the two. Brilliant when you hate Snow Patrol! He's also great with younger students. Once or twice I was a bit too early, and I'd take a seat whilst he was finishing up tutoring the next generation of Shredders which we so desperately need. Great tutor, Great Guy, awful pointy shoes.”

“When I was looking for a bass guitar tutor for my daughter I rang and searched out many tutors as I am one of those very protective parents, as soon as I spoke to guitar academy all my worries were gone, sol the tutor made me and my daughter feel very relaxed and happy in his company, he is very kind and funny but also very professional. Guitar academy has helped my daughter progress in leaps and bounds and has helped her to build on her confidence on performing in front of others and she is now part of the school band. We will continue with our bass lessons and would always recommend guitar academy to others. We can't thank you enough, thank you . X”

“My tutor, Sol Hardy, is fantastic! He makes the lessons really good fun and he puts you at ease. The songs that Sol has taught me are a good mixture of popular titles in different genres. I was a complete novice when I first started having lessons 8 months ago with Sol and now I'm hooked on the guitar! The Your Guitar Academy materials are really helpful and easy to use on-line. I'm really pleased with my lessons so far and I'd happily recommend Sol!”

“Kiall teachers my son Zaine age 6 years old, I'm very happy with Zaines class and progress! Zaine loves going to his class every week We have finished one course and have just renewed to start again for his ongoing class with guitar. Highly Recommending!”
