YGA is by far and away the best online tutorial site for learning the guitar (& I’ve tried a few over the years). All courses are very clear with comprehensive support material including tabs, chord diagrams and backing tracks. There are a wide range of courses at all levels including player studies. Currently having lessons with Dan and he is a great teacher. Always has a clear focus in his lessons & very patient. What comes over from Dan and his team of great tutors is a desire to help everyone improve their playing & enjoy the guitar. Thank you.

Dan and team are truly a blessing in the world on online guitar courses! They offer insightful, fun and practical courses that help guitarist of any level gain the confidence to break out of their shells and push beyond their limits! They also manage to make learning theory and applying it to the instrument so accessible, fun and - more importantly - inspiring! I couldn't recommend them more!

Yuki is a great guitarist but not a great teacher actually. I signed up for lessons with him but i found my lessons cancelled at the last minute due to his gigging responsibilities. I think i still have some credits / financial credits with him but it all got a bit too complicated. I'd look elsewhere to be honest.

Hi there, thank you for leaving this review, and I'm very sorry for the experience you've had with Yuki. We have spoken to Yuki about this, and we absolutely will not be sending any more students his way if this is his focus. We pride ourselves on having amazing teachers, not amazing guitar players, so once again, I'm sorry that Yuki was not the right person. If you do want to call and have a chat, to try and find a better tutor for you then please get in touch.

The Guitar Club by Your Guitar Academy is a fantastic source for learning guitar. There is a variety of high quality video courses, like famous guitar player studies, music theory, guitar exercises, or courses for genres like funk, blues, fingerstyle, etc. Besides this, the site offers tool like backing tracks, a practice tracker, scale diagrams etc. The teachers are positive and encouraging and are open for feedback/requests. This all-in-one-package is why I like The Guitar Club so much. Before, I was learning via YouTube. I could'nt find lessons to fit my skill level and it was hard to focus. Now, I just open the dashboard and I have most of what I need. I find myself playing more regular and therefore making more progress. But most importantly, I have more fun playing guitar. So I would recommend joining the club to anyone that wants to learn to play the guitar.

I have been playing the guitar on and off for about a decade. I decided to try to stick with it now and therefore I checked out free online courses on Youtube when I stumbled over Dans Lead Pathway. As soon as I finished that I decided the money is well spent with them for a subscription. Before you spend any money there is always the chance to check out all their free stuff on Youtube and I bet you will think the same. The value you get is insane! I also love that its such a warm community on discord where all the mentors and also Dan is very active to make you feel welcome and answer all the questions you might have. Learning the guitar can be pretty overwhelming since you won't always know what to learn next. The pathways are a welcome addition to find a way through the jungle of things to do and learn. I highly recommend YGA! They also have a money back guarantee with no questions asked if for any reason you can't get your value out of this but I'd bet that you won't need it!

In my opinion YGA is the best online place for learning guitar whether total beginner or intermediate. I tried a few but this was by far best value for your buck. I have been a member for many years and the content is continually being updated and improved. All the teachers are very easy to follow and will come back to you very quickly with any questions you have. Totally recommend joining for anyone just starting out or looking for big improvements.

Been with Y.G.A for close to three years before that visited many sites and struggled to keep my momentum going then discovered Y.G.A's 30 day challenge made a massive difference to my learning journey . Joined the club and started my pathway and thought this is challenging . but with the pathway system it keeps you on track which is what i needed and has a 65year old guitar was not an easy hobby to pick up highly recommend Y.G.A

I joined Your Guitar Academy about a year and a half ago after finding Dan’s tutorial for Slow Dancing in a Burning Room by John Mayer. At the time it felt completely out of reach since I’d only been playing guitar for just over a year. Working through that tutorial alongside YGA’s learning pathways, I was able to play through the full song within a year, not perfectly, but far beyond what I ever imagined possible. I’ve now been playing for just over two and a half years, and the progress still surprises me. The courses are very musical and engaging, you’re always playing real music, not just drills. What really sets YGA apart are the weekly mentor webinars. They feel like live workshops, interactive, responsive, and adapted in real time to the players attending. I’ve also been working weekly with one of the mentors, Kiall, for almost a year, and my playing has grown tremendously, across improvisation, melodic soloing, and rhythmical playing. Overall, it’s a fantastic group of teachers and an inspiring platform. I’d highly recommend YGA to anyone serious about learning guitar in a musical and engaging way.

I am a huge fan of YGA. Dan and his team have put together a fantastic set of courses and other resources, and they are incredibly responsive to questions or enquiries. I own several courses, have an annual membership and this year took part in the Accellerator Programme, which really improved my playing and understanding of the guitar.

I have personal 1 to 1 lessons with Rax in Christchurch. He is a very understanding tutor and proceeds at my pace. Always happy to go off piste and answer other questions that I might have. The "homework" can be challenging but it keeps me focused.

What you need from a guitar teacher is not just a very good and knowledgable player, but someone who also has ample teaching skills and experience. Paul has both of these. As an older learner, I have found Paul's thoughtful preparation before our sessions, his enthusiasm and encouragement during the lessons, as well as his follow-up emails have been so useful on my guitar journey. Definitely a 5-star teacher.

I am so lucky to have found this online school for guitar. Dan is such a gifted and inspiring teacher. You can tell he loves to teach. I am so grateful he founded this school. I live in Toronto, Canada and this is truly the best program to learn guitar online that I have ever seen. I have been progressing and learning so much more than just 'on my own'. Dan is the real deal, I love how he progressively teaches everything and how he motivates you to practice every day (even if it's "just" 10 minutes!)

YGA Guitar Club is BRILLIANT! If you are looking to progress your guitar playing and musicality then this is the place. 5 stars is simply not enough. It deserves loads more. I have been a member for 3 weeks and I've made more progress and am loving my guitar playing more than at any time in the last 3 years of internet trawling and you tube hopping. I have tried all the big names out there, both paid and free, and none have engaged me like the guys at the Guitar Club. The courses and lessons are very well crafted, super fun and delivered by engaging, friendly, knowledegable mentors who actually know how to teach effectively through a camera lens. They know how to break down and sequence the learning for effective progress and I get the feeling they genuinely care about the experience students in the club. There are many courses to choose from but, best of all, you can follow a pathway created for you depending on your starting point and interests. This takes away all the wasted time and energy deciding what to learn and practise. Just get a pathway and follow it. Simples. I have done this and have made great strides in just 3 weeks. It's super motivating and the pieces in the lessons are good fun to learn and play along to the excellent backing tracks. There are also excellent learning support tools such as the interactive tab which can be looped, speeded up and slowed down etc. I am not very tech savvy but I find the site and the tools very easy to navigate and use. I can't wait each day to pick up my guitars and crack on. There is a supportive community which includes, amongst many other things, the option to submit a monthly piece for feedback from the mentors, live sessions and Q and A sessions with the (adorable) "Main Guy" which are super entertaining and informative. This is such a fun club to be part of and for an extremely reasonable price and, most importantly, it works. If you are serious about your guitar learning don't hesitate, do a trial week then join up and you'll be hooked just like I am and revelling in your progress.

I live in Washington DC, am a 59 year old grandmother and just learning how to play guitar. I became a member and started with the 30-day challenge class online. I love it! I didn’t think I would be able to get the hang of it but I’m coming along. Thanks to Dan, who teaches this class and who has a real talent for sharing his knowledge in an immensely effective way.
