This is a very simple review to write. Having worked as a delivery driver, one can sympathise with drivers that are polite, but suffering working for a poorly-run courier. This is the case with Tufnells. It took three deliveries instead of one to receive my items. Thank you for the discount I requested due to the delays and availability issues. Your customer service department tried its best, but the issue here is simple. I had to "down tools" twice because of Tufnell's shocking delivery service. This week, a friend asked about the fence project. I told him honestly - shop around. It would have been great to recommend Suregreen. But I couldn't.

I bought 5 100x100mm fence posts - they were cheap but quite poor quality (split, large chunks missing) - however, useable for my purpose.

The mesh was mangled and broken on arrival. It was not straight, and therefore did not give the appearance I was looking for.

Despite the very high delivery costs, delivery was very bad. We had no notification for when the items would arrive and when they did, a sleeper was missing.

Excessive charge for delivery and extra charge for Saturday delivery. This was the only company that did not offload the items and needed the purchaser. I have had a skip and soil and other items delivered - all offloaded only by the deliverer. The driver would have arrived before his time slot if he had not taken a local diversion which I’m glad there’ was one as it enabled my help to come with offloading. Poor service by Suregreen.

Good Morning David Sorry to hear you're unhappy with the delivery service this time. We do not offer craned delivery to your area, and so we do state on our website before you order, and on your dispatch notification "Timber orders require 2 people to assist offloading, unless otherwise advised." This is due to the size and weight of the 2.4m oak sleepers ordered, which are too long to physically fit on a vehicle tail lift to be lowered to ground level for you. Unless organised with the courier depot directly, we do not offer a timed delivery service, this would be between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday, date agreed with yourself directly. I apologise if they have not upheld an agreement made with them directly. Unfortunately my experience with Suregreen has been disappointing. Firstly, their carrier, Tuffnells, did not give me advance warning of delivery. This made planning to receive and offload the timber difficult. Secondly I received only 5 oak posts out of an order of 6. The last post had to be delivered the next day. Again, the first warning I received from Tufnells was a call to say they were at the door! Further than this, one of the posts was heavily fluted and badly cracked. I am used to working with oak and understand that it is not going to be uniform but this example was far worse than what I consider acceptable. Suregreen initially said they would replace when delivering the missing post but subsequently emailed to change this and said a charge of £109 for "restocking" would apply. When I emailed to say I was not happy with this no one bothered to get back to me. A disappointing experience for me and, I would have thought, a short-sighted way to treat a new customer.

The bottom of the bamboo screen is frayed and worn. Does this warrant a replacement or refund?

Ordered 8 x planks but 4 were marked or split. Informed Suregreen and they said they would replace.....that was 2 weeks ago, I did get told they were waiting on new stock (probably why they sent me the damaged ones to get rid of old stock) haven't heard anything since.

Never answer the phone and emails always bounced back. At one point I thought the website was a scam. They eventually phoned me back via their callback service and I eventually received my order. Poor service but the product, when it arrived, is fine.

I purchased railway sleepers and contacted their customer service team to make sure the delivery would be left in our garden as wouldn't be home. I contacted again on the day and was told no notes had been left but they would be added again. Sure enough, the goods were left on our doorstep and not behind the garden gate as agreed.

Some items ordered have not arrived after 2 weeks. Contacted company asking them to investigate, but no-one came back to me and had to do this 3 times. So far no response to the problem.

Sadly out faux-lead planter arrived broken. The packaging wasn't sufficient and the cardboard outer didn't have any 'this way up' or 'fragile' tape added. Evidently been thrown about by Hermes (my least favourite courier. On the positive side, immediate action to arrange and send a refund from Suregreen, but I'd have preferred that it cam unbroken!
