“Package was dispatched really quickly. Great service. Unfortunately it wasn't quite what I needed I was hoping for a more finer nib for lining out oo gauge model locos.”

As this is a service review and not a product review it's disappointing that you would only give us 3 stars because you didn't like the product, you have to option of retuning products that aren't what you expected or just don't want.

“order 193642 Gauge Roadway 00. 75mm - 120mm Jarvis JROAD. I have ordered this before seems like years ago they came rolled up quite easy to layout but this order came in small packets squashed and folded up really hard to get the creases out and even harder to layout. I quess it's cheaper to post like this.”

Thank you for your review, we wouldn't squash something just to try and get cheaper postage, this is how they are now supplied, maybe years ago they came in plastic blister packs, but more companies are trying to do their bit for the environment and not using unnecessary packaging, I would have thought your order would have been sent in a box because you bought 6 of them, so that wouldn't make the postage cheaper.

“As usual great service from scale model shop, quick dispatch, unfortunately this is let down by postal and delivery services. My next day postal order sent tue arrived Friday so no point in express postal charges”

“Good service from the company delivery time was fast and products well packed and in perfect condition. Only three stars as my order needed to be altered as their chosen carrier for some products was asking absolutely silly money for delivery, might need to look to different carriers.”

Thank you for your review, as you know we don’t offer the shipping option unless someone asks for it, because it is expensive to send hazardous goods, unfortunately due to you living in a remote Scottish area and all couriers charge a premium for it, as you pointed out we was still cheaper than other English retailers.

“Item was delivered as advertised. The lower star rating is because, for one set of transfers, the delivery cost was excessive. We suggest a lower delivery charge for an order which fits into a standard-sized envelope. if the delivery charge had been reasonable we would have given 5 stars.”

Thank you for your review, we currently have over 26,000 products on our website, we are out of stock of just under 6,000. Some of these are discounted but most are still available just our suppliers are out of stock, I wish we could have 100% stock levels but due to circumstances out of our control, it's not possible, sign up for our back in stock notification and you will get an email when they are back in stock, we have deliveries every day.

Thank you for your review, the postage it clearly shown at time of checkout, it's based on Royal Mail's tracked 48 packet price, if you bought this from a post office it would currently cost you £3.45, because we resell it we have to add VAT, it doesn't just cover postage but also packaging, so we feel this is a fair price, unfortunately these are costs we have to pass on, but we also offer free postage depending on order value

“I have mixed feelings about my last experience. I have ordered before and have been very happy with the products and the service. However, my last order was not so positive. I happened to be away when I placed the order so I asked for a specific date for the order to be despatched. When the order was placed it said it was going to be sent by Royal Mail standard tracked - I know that that can take at least 48 hours so I asked for a despatch date that would mean I would be home when the package was estimated to be delivered. However, I received an email the day before the agreed date saying that it had been sent by DPD. I dislike courier deliveries and one reason for using SMS was RM delivery. I questioned the despatch date and was told that it wasn't a problem as DPD would send me an email and I could change the delivery date. This never happened. I received nothing from DPD. Luckily I had the DPD app and was able to log on and find out that delivery was scheduled for the following day - when I wouldn't be in. I was able to change the day and the package arrived safely. I don't want to appear to be making a fuss about nothing - and I will order from SMS again as they have a great range of stock - but this experience just left me with a bad taste.”

Thank you for your review, you asked for your parcel to be sent out Wednesday or Thursday, so we sent it out Wednesday and upgraded you free of charge to DPD, we do this sometimes depending on the weight of the parcel, if we send heavier ones (over 2kg) by DPD it keeps our Royal Mail average weight down, which means we can keep the postage price down, if it had gone with Royal Mail which is 2-3 working days, it might have been Monday when you received it.

“Great range of products and fast turn-around from the online store. However, using Royal Mail is frustrating since they always deliver late and their online tracking system is a joke in giving a delivery day and time slot but in reality, the package is still in their depot on the day in question which is finally delivered a few days later. (This happens every time ) But this isn't the fault of the store I must add who I can't fault.”

“Great shop for modelling, the only thing that's stops me purchasing more is the price of postage, often get to the checkout and change my mind due to postage, its OK if your buying multiple items l guess but not so good for a one off buy. if postage was better would definitely use more.”

Thank you for your review, 99% of items we send out are thicker than 25mm and class as a packet, our delivery costs is not just to cover the postage but for packaging too, and currently the price of packaging is increasing every time we re buy, but we still keep our cost to you the same and feel it is a fair price. I noticed the day you placed this order you also placed a second one, as long as your order isn't packed we would have been happy to have added it to your original order to save you on a second delivery cost.

Thank you for your review, you placed your order after our cutoff time on Tuesday so it didn't leave us until Wednesday, standard delivery is typically 2-3 working days, weekends are not classed as working days, so your parcel took 3 days, we do offer other postage options if 2-3 days isn't fast enough for you.

“Can’t comment as I haven’t received item as yet I emailed shop to ascertain if item had been dispatched and got no reply item ordered 12th March paid for 48 tracked 10 days later still not received”

We have not received an email from you about that, I have checked the tracking and it was delivered just over an hour ago, please check the tracking as it shows a picture of your mail box. tracked 48 is typically a 2-3 working day delivery time, Northern Ireland will take a bit longer.

“Unfortunately, both spray cans were faulty. Varnish should be crystal clear, but both were when used opaque and the models were beyond repair. ruined!”

Looking at your order you have bought matt and satin, both will dull down the model when sprayed. Also you bought enamel sprays, if you used them over the top of acrylics they will react, we are always happy to help if you need advice before purchasing.

“As an absolute beginner I found the website very difficult to navigate as you need some level of knowledge to be able to search it and get the correct items. It’s not easy to browse “other products you might like”. I appreciate your site is likely to be a proprietary piece of software so difficult to change so maybe you could direct people with some blogs about products etc. Not a great experience.”

Thank you for your review, as with most sites the "other products you might like" tend to be random products and have very little relevance to what you might want, when possible we do add products manually that are 100% relevant to the products you are looking at, but that still doesn't mean it's the product for you. We have invested a lot of time in the search option to make sure people can find what they are looking for easily, and there is also the drop down menu which is set out so you can narrow down what you are looking for to categories, and then filter by manufacturer, and we do have lots of reviews that do say the site is easy to navigate. If you can't find what you are looking for feel free to email or call, we are always happy to help
