“An overly large A4 sized cardboard box used to send three paint brushes. These were held inside by a piece of sticky tape with no other protective packing. A smaller jiffy bag would have sufficed as it has done in the past from other vendors. One of the brushes (Round Brush Abteilung 502ABT830-4/0) was missing a protective plastic collar within it's pertinent box. This resulted in splayed bristles rendering the brush unfit for purpose. Attempts at repointing said brush have proved fruitless. I haven't discussed this with the vendor and asked for a replacement as its a 'first world problem' but I doubt I'll make another purchase. based on this experience.”

Thank you for your review, previous experience has taught us if they had been sent in a Jiffy bag more often than not they would arrive to you broken, so I can’t apologise for how this was packed, it was in a box, no further packaging was required, they reached you unbroken albeit a missing sleeve for the brush, which you didn’t tell us about until now.

“I was looking for some plastic putty (i.e. maleable putty that would set in the shape I wanted) to fill a gap. I looked at a lot of options online and chose the one from Scale Model Shop, not realising from what sort of shop I was buying. I was a bit surprised to see it came from a model shop when it arrived, but read the instructions, saw that it was an acryllic product and decided it would still do that job I wanted. Nowhere did it say that the product must not get wet. But the putty never set, it made a sticky mess on my wall that in the end I had to wipe off with a cloth and I couldn't get it all off. When I complained by email I got a very terse reply saying that the product wasn't meant for the task for which I had used it, it sounded as if it had got wet. But there were no instructions on how to use the product, so it wasn't clear at all how to use it and it certainly didn't say that it should not get wet. If it had, I would have returned it unopened. I asked for my money back because of the lack of information sent with the product but didn't get it.”

“Great shop with a large selection of goods but I'm sorry to say their delivery doesn't live up to expectations. I ordered paints etc on 24th November but at the moment I'm still waiting for my goods.”

Royal Mail tried to deliver on the 27th, your parcel is waiting at your local delivery office for collection or to arrange a redelivery, please check your tracking detail on how to proceed with the redelivery, if you had contacted before leaving a review we could have told you this, but if customers don’t alert us to problems then we would never know.

“the shop was great, but the product is terrible. It's advertised as Die Cut but that's a lie. product is Laser Cut, which causes burnt marks and yellowing of the edges, rendering the whole product useless.”

“Dear John, by posting my thin foil uchi van der rosten next to a hard handled ASK razor saw together in a thin bubble envelope I was dissapointed but not suprised with the creases and dent in my splatter stencils.Packages endure a hard journey being stepped-on and thrown in the back of delivery vans so a little forethought and maybe put stencills in a sandwitch of cardboard for protection or use a small box if other items are included in the order.”

If you had contacted us before buying it we would have looked to see if we could price match it, I can't find it on their website so it might be in store only product, the product you bought from us is 10% below RRP already

“Alas, the caps on the glue bottles were not fully closed. As a result one of the bottles, more loose than the others, pretty much emptied itself into the bag it was encased in. Otherwise no complaints.”

“Quite disappointed actually as it was my first experience with Scale Model Shop and l need the Nato colours for a Challenger MBT model but the green colour should be a drab olive but when applied it was a bright semi-gloss! Also, the set should have included a matt black and l received gun metal! So,not happy...”

Thank you for your review, as this is a service review and not a product review it's disappointing to receive 2 stars, we don't make up the sets and it wouldn't be practical for us to check every set before sending out, this is obviously a manufacture issue, we can't do anything about the colour no being the same as you think it should have been, but if you had contacted use we would have rectified the issue with the wrong paint in the set, if you don't contact us we don't know there is an issue.

“Having looked at the range and choice of accessories offered by this shop I had high hopes. The courier Fed Ex ruined the whole experience . Also there was no packing list enclosed which is something that should be in any package that contains multiple items.”

Thank you for your review, you didn’t pay for FedEx delivery we changed it at no extra cost due to the amount of flammable products you had in your order, you paid for standard delivery which is typically 2-3 working days, you still got your order within that time, you would have got it the next day if you hadn’t changed the delivery day, as for paperwork we like to do our bit for the environment and where ever possible recycle packaging and part of that is not including unnecessary paperwork, you get an email confirmation for your order where you can check it off.

Unfortunately we have no control over deliver especially when Royal Mail are on strike, we did put a message on our checkout page recommending people choose Express delivery rather than standard, if you take out non working days like weekends and strike days your order has only been 3 full working days, and if you check the tracking it is due for delivery today, I do feel a negative service review is unfair when we processed your order in our normal quicktime, but due to the delivery service you selected it wasn't delivered in the a time frame you found acceptable and not taking in to account the Royal Mail strikes.

“Disappointing purchase this time. Unfortunately, the items were badly bent and unusable for my project. The items had two pieces of cardboard for protection, but these had been bent several times, no doubt by Royal Mail.I have now reordered the items from an alternative supplier”

“Product description is incorrect. Says it will fit a 1/35 scale Firefly but the tracks are too short by about 1-2cm for the model. Delivery was fine but I now have a product that I can't use.”

“Really liked the products - annoyed that I ordered using royal mail 24 delivery and the order wasn't shipped the same day and only processed the next day - not sure what I paid the extra money for if you aren't going to even try to get the products out to me within the timefram of the delivery option I have paid for. bit annoyed”

Thank you for your review, as our website states "Our cut off time for order processing is Mon-Fri 12pm, but we aim to send out all orders received by 2pm the same day, however at busy times this is not always possible." you placed your order at 1:57pm, unfortunately, it was a very busy day, and we like to make sure all orders placed before 12pm go out, it wouldn't be fair on those customers if their order was not sent because we sent someone else order out that was placed much later.

Thank you for your review, this is the first we have heard of this, it looks like it’s stuck in a loop with Royal Mail, this could be to do with the address, the one you put down does not match when we do a lookup, the good news is it’s been scanned today so it’s not lost, hopefully it will be with you soon, please keep us updated.

Thank you for your company review, disappointing to only receive 2 stars, you say you are unable to use it for what you wanted it for, as we sell products for scale models it should be 100% compatible with using it on models, however as it's a chrome product I would guess you are trying to use it to match a chrome product? We would have been more than happy to advise before purchasing, this will not give you the chrome finish you are looking for.
