Purchased a twisted ring style iron gate handle on 14.10.24 at a cost of £16.65. Fitted it to my gate mid November. The handle was installed for less than 2 months and very badly rusted and has totally broken apart. Not fit for purpose and the poorest quality metal gate handle I've ever seen. Absolute garbage !!

I ordered a lock for a bathroom and I did not get a bolt or receiver. The goods cost less than £10 but the postage cost me £14 and customs cost €14. I still don’t have a lock for my bathroom

The barndoor handle that I ordered became rusty afterone shower of rain. I sent an email with photograph to Ironmongery and have not received a reply after 5 working days. Product is not fit for purpose and customer service is very poor.

I bought 4 Penny End iron hinges from Ironmongery World recently, they were covered in a thick coat of wax which was hinding lots of rust, the screws that were also part of the purchase were unusable very poor quality. This was for a job that I had to finish urgently so I had to use the hinges, so obviously I spoiled any chance of a return and refund, bit I WILL NOT BUY FROM IRONMONGERY WOLRD EVER AGAIN.

I have never dealt with a more inept, irresponsible business. One would think that their home is somewhere in a remote, Far Eastern small town where pigs run wild, there's mud everywhere and no modern communication. Even then, the small town would probably be better. Let me be clear, I have received despicable service. Two months ago, I made my order. Next day confirmation of shipment. Good. Two weeks following I asked for the shipper and tracking number. Response, they had not yet shipped because of the company moving local. Shipping would be prioritised. Two weeks later, I ask again for tracking # and shipper. The order had not been shipped yet and, besides, the lamp shades ordered were no longer produced so they would not be shipped. Why wait 4 weeks to tell me? They promise to ship the remainder. Two weeks pass where I again ask for tracking and shipper. Latest email: The senior manager has cancelled the order. No explanation other than that my money will be refunded. Could you believe a company with such ineptness and coverup lying to protect this ineptness. I cannot.

In regards to the late delivery please note that we have disclaimer on the footer of our website mentioning that we are moving premises to a bigger and better warehouse. Please allow additional time for your order to be dispatched and delivered. Your order was delayed for this reason. However, we do apologise for the customer service behaviour. Told to wait up to 40 days for refund by a very rude lady then put phone down I never buy from this company again they should be ashamed of themselves

Absolutely AWFUL customer service. Ordered multiple items at different times and they either never showed up or were even shipped to begin with. Upon contacting them in relation to this they agreed to refund items however 2months later and still no refund received. Currently under investigation by third party. They will take your money but do not deliver on service - literally! Absolutely appalling! Would not recommend to anyone!!!

i really hate giving bad reviews but I purchased the items online with the payment for next day delivery, that was 6 days ago and still not received the items. phoned 4 days and was told that an item was not in stock, surely i should have been contacted? promised would receive goods next day, Friday, nope! given I am 40 miles away it would have been quicker to walk and get them.

I have paid for goods that have not been delivered, I have been promised action by Zara but she constantly fails to deliver on her promises. I have paid in full but received nothing. I have been a faithfull client of Ironmongery World over recent years and I am disgusted and appalled at the total lack of interest in responding to my calls and emails.

I paid for express delivery. My parcel took 5 days to arrive. When I called to enquire on the 5th day, I was told abruptly that the courier had attempted delivery twice, but there was no-one in either time. The lady I spoke to was very rude to me when I explained all couriers find a place to leave parcels when we are out - either in the shed, woodstore or on the doorstep. She was very rude to me on the phone. That afternoon my parcel arrived when we were in, posted through the letterbox. If the courier had attempted before (and I received no notification by email that they had), then why not just post through the letterbox - the parcel was small enough. I don't believe Ironmongery World honoured the express delivery I paid extra for.

Ordered a ceiling airer but had to contact the company after a week as still no delivery. I was told the courier confirmed the item was delivered and signed for to an address in a completely different town. I constantly had to chase Ironmongery World up while they "investigated", eventually told the driver was off on annual leave. They said they could send the order out again but couldn't guarantee the same thing wouldn't happen as they would use the same courier! Currently waiting on a refund - utter charlatans, stay well clear of this company.

I ordered several pairs of antique door hinges on 14 June. Despite my numerous phone calls when I was told the order was in transit from India and would be with me any day .. it is now 31 July. Still no hinges. This service is not good enough and I would like a refund but even this seems beyond their ability to organise.

I am afraid the person I spoke to was terribly off hand, curt even, she really had not a glimmer of charm. Paid for item and next day delivery, never arrived so ask for money back. Lady had a very poor attitude.

Awful experience still not resolved. I bought two sets of shelf brackets in February. One arrived, I followed up and they said they were out of stock but would send them when they were back in. It’s nearly May and - despite chasing - I still don’t have the second set. Awful customer service, would never buy from them again.
