Really awful experience. The items I ordered were delayed and when they did arrive nothing was correct. In fact there were attempts to pass off Penny head hinges as spear head hinges by angle grinding the tops of the hinges down. Really dishonest. I’m still waiting for my refund and it’s been over a week since I sent the parcel back. I would not recommend!

My order took from order on 07/01/2022 until 24/01/2022 when it should have been next working day delivery (10/01/2022). This was down to nothing other than sloppy addressing of the delivery. Not one call back. When the delivery arrived one of the brackets was cracked. Emailed Ironmongery world but the emails just bounce back. Would not use again.

Dear Customer, Sorry for such an experience with your order. You place an order on 7th January which was Friday. Due to the weekend, it was dispatched the next working day. However, the delivery company took it longer than expected in terms of delivering your order for which we are deeply sorry. Regarding the bracket received broken, which email address have you sent the message to? Is it info@ironmongeryworld.com
Slats slide and wobble around inside the frame, pretty unsafe and had to hot glue them in place. The slats are rough to the touch in places and splinter, damaging clothes. Overall looks lovely though.

If I could leave zero stars I would. I ordered a sample of a handle and then when I placed the order they all turned up in a totally different finish. After countless phone calls to the rude reception staff and e mails I finally got someone to try and change the handles. They never arrived as they were supposed to be awaiting a “delivery”. In the end I returned most of the handles and then to add insult to injury they are proposing to charge me a 15% restocking charge. Shocking service, which is a pity as they have nice products.

First time Delivery placed for next day delivery for expensive door handles. They did not arrive as I was waiting in all day. I will be cancelling this payment with my bank and will never order from them again as Courier lied and said he delivered when in fact he was seen on Cctv arriving and placing an (incorrect parcel for someone else) in full view at front of my home; so where did my very expensive order disappear to? Your delivery man was supposed to leave a calling card for the recipient if he could not deliver so that I could rearrange to receive this the next day and he didn’t. What kind of scam is this that is going on???

I asked a simple question about how a latching hinged worked as it came with no instruction or note. Only to be told it works "vertically".....!!!! How insulting!! A picture or short description was all that was needed. Going back to using Ironmongery Direct .

I ordered and paid for a 5-hook Chrome Georgian Volute Coat Rack and was sent a 4-hook rack. Also having paid for "next day delivery", I didn't expect it to arrive a week later -but it did. The product was very poorly made as well which I pointed out to the totally disinterested girl in their "Customer Services" Dept. So why should we Buy British when companies like this couldn't care less about its customers?

Paid for next day delivery and never turned up! Customer service rude and unprofessional! Never seen such bad service in my life! Train your staff to do their jobs properly I wouldn’t hurt to speak to your customers nicely and not lie to them and accuse them of things that aren’t true! Also don’t hang the phone up on your customers. I certainly won’t be giving my business to this awful business again!

I bought a pair of bolts from Ironmongery World (IW) through Onbuy (an EBay lookalike). One of the bolts was bent and could not be used. I emailed IW but did not receive a reply. Eventually with the help of Onbuy, IW were forced into replying (this took about a month!). I suggested a replacement as the bolts were fitted in pairs and I would return the bent bolt. Some six weeks on, the issue has still not been resolved. Ironmongery World has the worst customer service I have experienced. Okay if all goes well, but you need also to know when things don't go quite right and you need some help. Well, you won't get that!

Delivery was fine, however I ordered a couple of types of hooks which stated 3 in a pack and only received 1 hook in each of those packs. I have since returned the items and have not received a refund. It is now outside of the 14 working days stated on the website as the maximum time it should take to be refunded. Over £100 waiting to be returned to me. Not impressed. Have called several times and all they have said is that they are chasing it.

Bought a door handle with lock and the carpenter that came round to fit it said it was very poor quality look at screws they don't even have a bit on top so you can't screw in. He had to use his screws. The spring was of bad quality too. Why bother making and selling this to people? Next time I will make sure of where it is made and realise I probably need to pay more money to get a good door handle.

Speedy delivery, however item was unusable due to poor manufacturing. Emailed IronmongeryWorld on Tuesday (now being Friday) and haven't heard anything back regarding an exchange or refund.

revised review after product delivered late. First the items that I bought are fine, no problems there. I placed the order Wed evening with 'next day' delivery because I wanted it by the weekend. It didn't arrive on Friday as the courier said it would, but did arrive Monday - did that resolve the issue? This was a cheap courier ( the poor driver worked from 8am to 8pm ) they just seem to have scheduled too much for a single day - most of the time that would be OK but if you can't do next day delivery don't promise it, or offer it as an priced option with a different courier.

I ordered a quality black gate latch and saw a picture of one on their website. When it came it was completely different and very poor quality.

Product fine. Delivery system a farce. Ordered after 3.30pm on Friday 24/9 arrived Friday 1/10. Rang on the 28th to enquire when it would arrive and was told it was not sent on the 27th as the couriers don’t collect on Mondays!!!! Claimed it was sent on 28th on overnight delivery. Didn’t arrive in the 29th so emailed for tracking number so I could find out where it was. They sent the wrong number!! Emailed again to ask if they could find out where it was. They didn’t bother to reply. Eventually arrived on the 1st October. Terrible service.

When placing the airer, we have stated it takes 4-5 working days for despatch. We tried our best too deliver as soon as possible, but due to driver shortage, everything was slightly delayed. Hi The latches I bought from you 2 off them have snapped when the doors slammed so not happy with the strength of the latches so would not recommend them to weak
