About Halo:

Halo is a registered charity and social enterprise running 25 sport and leisure centres throughout Herefordshire, Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, Shropshire and Swindon on behalf of the local authorities. We often discuss our status as a social enterprise, but many of our customers are unsure of what it actually means and more importantly, how it benefits them. Being a social enterprise means Halo trades for social purposes. We are a registered charity and 'not for profit' organisation, with no shareholders.

The money we make is ploughed back into the facilities.

“Great centre run by a great team, everyone I've come across have been so helpful and friendly from the cleaning lady to the centre manageress and all the fitness instructors. Also a great variety of classes all throughout the day every day.”

“Not without it's charms. Lockers need to work and be repaired. Showers take too long to be fixed. Perhaps conspiration for neuro diverse people in the pool and music turned down a little?”

“Range of classes are excellent. Freestanding book-in pillars in Reception are out of order frequently! Not good enough. Reception are far too slow in dealing with queues! Soap dispensers in ladies loos frequently out of soap.”

“I gave some feedback to an instructor and although she says she listens to feedback I think she should rephrase that to only positive,the response I got was unprofessional. There was little digs towards the class about how everyone is enjoying the class apart from perhaps one member,so at the end of class I went to the instructor and said I didn't mean to upset her I just thought the class was a bit stop and start and oh my God she went really aggressive and accused me of poking her. ANGER MANAGEMENT needed”

“I think there needs to be a couple more bench presses and squat racks because they are often taken after school when i come to the gym.”

We are delighted to hear that the early morning lifeguards have always been welcoming to customers and helpful. We have also taken note of your comment regarding the pool temperature. We have a range where we have to keep our pool water temperature and it is automatically set to achieve this standard. Looking at recent records it hasn't changed. “For a small fitness centre it’s good. An additional studio would be good as Ledbury’s population is getting bigger and it’s hard to get into classes. It’s a shame that there’s no longer a link for members to use JMHS for racquet sports.”

“No complaints. Have been a member for years. Main reason for four stars is no stam room or sauna. Have to go to the baths at Ledbury once a week. I know a number of people who have left sue to the lack of sauna and steam rooms.”

We are glad to hear that you have been enjoying our facilities. There are no plans to introduce the Spa due to the costs to reinstate the area to the required standard along with the increased energy costs to run sauna and steam rooms.
