About Halo:

Halo is a registered charity and social enterprise running 25 sport and leisure centres throughout Herefordshire, Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, Shropshire and Swindon on behalf of the local authorities. We often discuss our status as a social enterprise, but many of our customers are unsure of what it actually means and more importantly, how it benefits them. Being a social enterprise means Halo trades for social purposes. We are a registered charity and 'not for profit' organisation, with no shareholders.

The money we make is ploughed back into the facilities.

“All the staff are very friendly at the Holmleigh Centre, always welcoming and happy to help. I cannot give it 5 stars because of the state of the ladies toilets. Many of the taps frequently cannot be turned off and the toilet and hand paper are often not topped up.”

“I was disappointed that I could not longer attend the GP referral hydro session but understood. But I’m quite disabled aanf the classes did help me .”

“The staff are great and the pool facilities are always clean and tidy. The biggest downside to halo are their swim times. These a set out to suit swim clubs and not the paying member. Swim for fitness session are pushed around to accommodate said swim clubs. The company are also not equal with genders as there a female only swim for fitness sessions within the program and in this day these should not exist. Frustratingly, the female only session at Ynysawdre was also stupidly placed at the busiest swim session of the week at that given time.”

“I could not get in a class I wanted even though I tried to book as soon as the class finished the previous week. I think people are doing block bookings. I was always on the reserve list and didn't know until the day of the class if I got a place. Which was too late for me.”

“Lovely staff and pool. The cleanliness and the state of the changing rooms needs addressing though. Didn’t like the fact I couldn’t go swimming when I wanted and had to book on. The price needs looking at also. Quite expensive”

“Friendly. Excellent, knowlegablel staff. Equipment is a bit tired. Some quipment has been "out of order" for a conciderable time. Showers need an overhaul.”

“Fiendly staff, good quality of equipment, pool has just reopened after refurbishment, unfortunately recent increases in out of order gym equipment and cleaning of toilet areas could be much better.”

“Could there be some consistency on the pool actually opening on time at midday during the week, it’s regularly gone past 1200 when the gates are finally opened, without even an apology from a member of staff. I appreciate the staff are young, most likely part time and probably don’t care but can they at least pretend like they do”

“Been a member now for a few years attend good workout classes and visit the gym which is all fantastic I always know I can ask for help and advice whenever BUT Tonight, I did something very stupid and lost my car keys down side of the stairmaster!😬 however!! the fantastic team working tonight, helped get them out within minutes. great team work yet again, very supportive, helpful, going that extra mile whenever help is needed !! Not with just gym stuff but silly things some people like me do! 😬🙈 shout out to Andy, Nina, Jake and kiaha. Thanks you sooo much ❤️”

“Firstly i would like to say that all the class instructors are fantastic, particularly Joe. However the range of classes offered is not great. I find it an outrage that you charge the same amount of money for a Leominster membership as you do a Hereford membership as the two site are miles apart in regard to offering!!!”
