About Halo:

Halo is a registered charity and social enterprise running 25 sport and leisure centres throughout Herefordshire, Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, Shropshire and Swindon on behalf of the local authorities. We often discuss our status as a social enterprise, but many of our customers are unsure of what it actually means and more importantly, how it benefits them. Being a social enterprise means Halo trades for social purposes. We are a registered charity and 'not for profit' organisation, with no shareholders.

The money we make is ploughed back into the facilities.

“The classes are good and the gym is fab but the reception staff often don't smile and messed up my membership twice, had to ring twice and popped in twice and eventually got it sorted. The person who rung me was brilliant and sorted it straight out”

“It's a good gym with a variety of equipments but the classes are only a few and there is no variety in the classes. No yoga or pilates classes.”

“To have such a great facility at the heart of our community, is incredibly valuable. It is wonderful to be able to swim, use the gym and attend classes almost every day of the week, and for aprice that is unbeatable. The staff are always friendly and helpful. It is such an important part of my day and I always feel better after visiting Halo. Keep doing what you are doing guys, you're brilliant.”

“Great facilities and enjoyable. But to improve, I would suggest the 20min gap between sessions to be reduced or if you use the sauna or steam room to be completely removed (it has no purpose and to wait 20min with no reasons, its very frustrating).”

This is to allow the Lifeguard a break from the poolside as required by law. The sauna and steam room also need to be out of use during this time, in case of an emergency, not having a member of the team within the area while they are on a break. “My main issue is with other "Haloist's" who sit on the machines and spend their time constantly texting and reading their mobiles.”

We understand that separate male and female showers would enhance privacy and comfort for everyone, we have a unisex changing village to aid with cleanliness so box male and female lifeguards can clean the areas, and it also provides an easier changing experience for our families that use us. “I have been a regular at this golf course for many years and the greens have been hit or miss but yesterday having paid your elevated green fee I was generally shocked by the lack of care. Greens were bumpy and full of pot holes and bunkers being filled in with shoddy turf and grass being cut and left the green keeper's need re-training or sacking. You have spent loads on a cycle track that is not used much, time to put some into the golf course and get the course back to its former level. I do believe you should send a refund to anyone who paid for GOLF yesterday and either close the course or offer it at a much reduced green fee.”
