About Halo:

Halo is a registered charity and social enterprise running 25 sport and leisure centres throughout Herefordshire, Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, Shropshire and Swindon on behalf of the local authorities. We often discuss our status as a social enterprise, but many of our customers are unsure of what it actually means and more importantly, how it benefits them. Being a social enterprise means Halo trades for social purposes. We are a registered charity and 'not for profit' organisation, with no shareholders.

The money we make is ploughed back into the facilities.

“I have been a regular at this golf course for many years and the greens have been hit or miss but yesterday having paid your elevated green fee I was generally shocked by the lack of care. Greens were bumpy and full of pot holes and bunkers being filled in with shoddy turf and grass being cut and left the green keeper's need re-training or sacking. You have spent loads on a cycle track that is not used much, time to put some into the golf course and get the course back to its former level. I do believe you should send a refund to anyone who paid for GOLF yesterday and either close the course or offer it at a much reduced green fee.”

“Ross on wye, centre is great, I only use the pool so not sure about the other facilities. Staff are allways friendly, it's a nice place to exercise.”

“Played a round of golf on the Hereford Municipal this morning 18-04-25. I have never seen the course in such a bad state before. I am actually sad I paid for that round! Won't be returning.”

“The Hereford Leisure Pool dry side showers were recently modified with new on/off controllers. The showers are now uncomfortably hot and cannot be temperature controlled. They are now almost scalding hot. I have reported it to the staff on a number of occasions but nothing has been done to lower the temperature”

“Very much like my twice weekly gym session with the 'oldies' under the guiding eye of Teresa. The experience would be much improved with the addition of televisions in front of the cross trainers (like there used to be) - used to like watching the news to take my mind off the torture!”
