About Halo:

Halo is a registered charity and social enterprise running 25 sport and leisure centres throughout Herefordshire, Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, Shropshire and Swindon on behalf of the local authorities. We often discuss our status as a social enterprise, but many of our customers are unsure of what it actually means and more importantly, how it benefits them. Being a social enterprise means Halo trades for social purposes. We are a registered charity and 'not for profit' organisation, with no shareholders.

The money we make is ploughed back into the facilities.

“I am slightly disappointed that there is no longer an option of using the sauna and yet the price increase over the last couple of years does not compensate for this. Maybe free car parking for Halo members at the leasure pool in Hereford would be a great incentive to continue my membership.”

“Joe gave me and my friend our induction, we were both nervous but shouldn’t have been as put us at ease, showed us everything and we left feeling like we know what we are doing, couldn’t fault him.”

“Ledbury swimming pool is the best. The life guards friendly, reception helpful. The changing rooms and pool super clean. The swimming lanes a good size making overtaking easy. Thank you brilliant Ledbury halo team”

“I've been a member at Craven Arms since the Wigmore centre closed. Although basic, I've always found the facilities to be well cared for, and perfectly adequate for my needs. I've only left because I've moved away from the area. I would certainly rejoin, if I moved back to the area. The centre staff are always welcoming, helpful and friendly; they readily deal with any issues which arise. As a result of my being a member there, two of my friends subsequently joined.”
