About Halo:

Halo is a registered charity and social enterprise running 25 sport and leisure centres throughout Herefordshire, Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, Shropshire and Swindon on behalf of the local authorities. We often discuss our status as a social enterprise, but many of our customers are unsure of what it actually means and more importantly, how it benefits them. Being a social enterprise means Halo trades for social purposes. We are a registered charity and 'not for profit' organisation, with no shareholders.

The money we make is ploughed back into the facilities.

“It has a friendly atmosphere. The staff are helpful. Senior citizens our age feel better at a small centre and probably would not attend classes in the main hall”

“I mainly attend classes. Core and conditioning ans spin classes are good. Yoga could be better. The instructor, although being a friendly, approachable person, seems to make up the session on the spot. I think a bit of planning would be beneficial to explore yoga a bit deeper as it seems to be the same every week.”

“Friendly and helpful staff but the squash court is not kept clean. There are dust bunnies in the corners and parking receipts have been lying there too for several days.”

“The gym can be overloaded with people at core times, the gym equipment is the bare minimum for some people causing some areas to be overcrowded.”
