About Halo:

Halo is a registered charity and social enterprise running 25 sport and leisure centres throughout Herefordshire, Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, Shropshire and Swindon on behalf of the local authorities. We often discuss our status as a social enterprise, but many of our customers are unsure of what it actually means and more importantly, how it benefits them. Being a social enterprise means Halo trades for social purposes. We are a registered charity and 'not for profit' organisation, with no shareholders.

The money we make is ploughed back into the facilities.

“Generally very good, i.e. inclusive, friendly, helpful and with a good range of facillities. Occasionally the music in the gym is loud to the extent that you cannot hear your own music via headphones, which is stressful. But most of the time it is okay. Most of the members of staff on the front desk are friendly, but there are one or two whom it would be nice to see acknowledging customers with a greeting and a smile when they arrive.”

“I would give a five star but recently the cost of eating in the cafe is out of mine and many others budget.this needs to be looked at .in my eyes you will loose a lot of custom just because you are to expensive. We are not a rich community and the only place for us to socialise is the centre.”

“Have cancelled my membership at Hereford Leisure Centre. Most of the times I can go it is just full of kids. Tried going earlier and there was a school there using during school time! Most trying to lift big weights that could cause injury and staff don’t say a word.”

“Great centre just a shame they keep increasing the monthly member fee. I thought the idea would be to keep teens active and in the gym etc but I’m not sure how much longer I can come if the fee keeps increasing as it’s a lot on my parents.”

“Wonderful, friendly, expert staff who make all the difference. Super facilities. Great online booking system. Gym facilities are extensive without being intimidating. Came at the start of physio and by comparison, I'm pain free. Thank you 😊”

“Pleasant, helpful reception staff. Very useful App. Lots of variety of activities to chose from. Cheerful, professional staff (Sian, Nikki, Ffion). Generally clean and tidy facilities. Very useful cafe to have a break between gap in classes. Some issues with ability to park in car park…. so busy, not enough spaces for number of people attending, particularly mid morning sessions. Even more of a concern when Medical Centre opens, further restricting availability of spaces”
